The main raw material for masses of liquid resins is a resin obtained by dry distillation of various organic substances, there are: coal, brown coal, wood, naphthol and other resins.

The best grades are considered to be those grades of resins that are not too liquid, and of the grades of coal tars, those that are deprived by distillation of their light oily part. You can also use cheaper grades of coal tar, which are obtained in the coke-benzene industry. Often soft pitch is added to the resin, etc.

To obtain the mass, good quality resin is mixed with various fillers. For example, for 1 weight. hours of resin take from 8 to 10 wt. including sawdust. If they want to get a more stone-like mass, then take the same amount of sand or gravel. To less dense varieties of resin, only half the amount of the named fillers can be added. In general, the appropriate amount of filler must be determined experimentally. The filler must be mixed at a temperature of 160 to 200 °C. The hot mixture is pressed into molds heated to 200 °C.

These masses are quite brittle and suitable for molding rough objects.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. Cooked rice is dangerous to health 13.04.2017

Scientists from the University of North Carolina during the study found that boiled rice can be deadly to humans.

As it turned out, not all bacteria in rice are destroyed during cooking. Rice contains pathogenic bacteria that can cause serious poisoning. Bacteria adapt to high temperatures and survive even after cooking. These include the bacterium Bacullus cereus. According to scientists, about 60 thousand people died from the use of boiled rice in the world.

During the study, experts found that rice should not be stored at room temperature, as this can lead to sudden poisoning. After cooking, the cereal should be put in the refrigerator so that the bacteria cannot become active.

According to experts, this treatment is not capable of destroying all types of microorganisms that enter the rice from the soil. Then their spores begin to grow and multiply, and also release dangerous toxins into the product. If a person consumes such a dish the next day, the probability of poisoning can increase to 100%, so do not risk your health and put the dish in a cold place.
