A boat with a rower moves much faster than a person swimming, even with flippers, although the drag force is three or even four times greater. The efficiency of the oars is higher than that of the hands, and the “power” developed by a person in a boat is also higher ... The most powerful muscles of a person work - the dorsal ones.

There are ideal conditions in the boat: there is a footrest, a seat, and oarlocks. And the swimmer has to row with his hands.

If you design a swimming apparatus so that you can row with your feet, then the speed will increase dramatically.

Let's make a (U-shaped frame, we use its ends under the oarlocks, and the legs will rest against the back. With each push with the feet, the oars, the ends of which remain in motionless hands, will move back and, under the action of the springs, go forward, that is, perform the same actions, as in a normal boat.

The frame must be bent from a thin-walled duralumin pipe with a diameter of about 30 mm. So that the frame does not sink, its ends must be drowned out. It is better to connect the oars with a cardan joint so that they swing at the same time and you can row even with one hand. A spring will return the oars back.

It is necessary to put floaters under the oarlocks, otherwise, when you raise the oars, the oarlocks go under the water and heat the swimmer's head. I adapted children's balls with nets, hung them near the oarlocks. And everything went very well. You can accelerate so that the wave overflows over your head.

Turning is easy: you can bend the body to the side, or you can deflect the body to one of the sidewalls of the frame.

If you manage to outrun the boat, don't be surprised.
