In recent decades, the volume of production of alkaline analogues of Leclanchet elements, including air-zinc ones, has increased.

The use of a free electrolyte limits the possibilities of using autonomous ones and is mainly used in stationary HIT. Therefore, numerous studies are aimed at creating so-called dry cells, or cells with a thickened electrolyte, free from elements such as mercury and cadmium, which pose a serious danger to human health and the environment.

This trend is a consequence of the advantages of alkaline HPS in comparison with classical salt cells: a significant increase in discharge current densities due to the use of a pasted anode; increasing the capacity of HIT due to the possibility of increasing the amount of active masses; creation of air-zinc compositions (elements of the 6F22 type) due to the greater activity of existing cathode materials in the reaction of electroreduction of dioxygen in an alkaline electrolyte [11].

Duracell batteries (USA)

Duracell is a recognized world leader in the production of disposable alkaline galvanic sources. The company's history spans over 40 years. The company itself is located in the United States of America. In Europe, its factories are located in Belgium. According to consumers both here and abroad, in terms of popularity, duration of use and value for money, Duracell batteries occupy a leading position.

Discharge current densities in lithium sources are not high (compared to other CPS), about 1 mA/cm2. With a guaranteed shelf life of 10 years and a low current discharge, it is rational to use Duracell lithium cells in high-tech systems. The US-patented EXRA-POWER technology, using titanium dioxide (TiO2) and other technological features, increases the power and efficiency of Duracell zinc-manganese HPPs.

Inside the steel casing of the Duracell alkaline cells is a cylindrical graphite collector, in which the paste-like electrolyte is in contact with the needle-shaped cathode.

Guaranteed shelf life of elements is 5 years, and at the same time - the capacity of the element indicated on the packaging is guaranteed at the end of the shelf life.

Batteries of concern Varta (Germany)

The Varta concern is one of the world leaders in the production of HIT. 25 factories of the concern are located in more than 100 countries of the world and produce more than 1000 types of accumulators and batteries. The main production facilities are occupied by the Department of Stationary Industrial Batteries. However, about 600 types of galvanic cells from watch batteries to sealed batteries are produced at the concern's factories by the Department of Instrument Batteries in the USA, Italy, Japan, the Czech Republic, etc., with a guarantee of consistent quality regardless of the geographical location of the factory.

The photographic camera of the first man to walk on the moon was equipped with Varta batteries. They are quite well known to our consumers and are in steady demand.
