  • The soil should be well-drained, sandy or clay. Good drainage will protect the roots from rotting.
  • Seeds of Grevillea Banks should be planted at a depth of 1-2 cm and the distance between them should be at least 30 cm.
  • Water the plants regularly to keep the soil moist, but don't water it to avoid root rot.
  • Keep the soil moist while the plant is growing. During flowering, fertilize Banks Grevillea regularly with a flowering plant fertilizer.
  • Remove any dry or damaged leaves and stems. Prune plants in spring and fall to maintain shape and encourage flowering.
  • Grevillea Banks can grow to a considerable height, so make sure to provide enough room for it to grow.

Workpiece:

  • Harvest Banks Grevillea flowers after they have faded or withered.
  • Dry the flowers in the sun or in a dryer at a temperature not exceeding 40 ° C.

Energy from space for Starship 08.05.2024

Producing solar energy in space is becoming more feasible with the advent of new technologies and the development of space programs. The head of the startup Virtus Solis shared his vision of using SpaceX's Starship to create orbital power plants capable of powering the Earth. Startup Virtus Solis has unveiled an ambitious project to create orbital power plants using SpaceX's Starship. This idea could significantly change the field of solar energy production, making it more accessible and cheaper. The core of the startup's plan is to reduce the cost of launching satellites into space using Starship. This technological breakthrough is expected to make solar energy production in space more competitive with traditional energy sources. Virtual Solis plans to build large photovoltaic panels in orbit, using Starship to deliver the necessary equipment. However, one of the key challenges ... >>

New method for creating powerful batteries 08.05.2024

With the development of technology and the expanding use of electronics, the issue of creating efficient and safe energy sources is becoming increasingly urgent. Researchers at the University of Queensland have unveiled a new approach to creating high-power zinc-based batteries that could change the landscape of the energy industry. One of the main problems with traditional water-based rechargeable batteries was their low voltage, which limited their use in modern devices. But thanks to a new method developed by scientists, this drawback has been successfully overcome. As part of their research, scientists turned to a special organic compound - catechol. It turned out to be an important component that can improve battery stability and increase its efficiency. This approach has led to a significant increase in the voltage of zinc-ion batteries, making them more competitive. According to scientists, such batteries have several advantages. They have b ... >>

Alcohol content of warm beer 07.05.2024

Beer, as one of the most common alcoholic drinks, has its own unique taste, which can change depending on the temperature of consumption. A new study by an international team of scientists has found that beer temperature has a significant impact on the perception of alcoholic taste. The study, led by materials scientist Lei Jiang, found that at different temperatures, ethanol and water molecules form different types of clusters, which affects the perception of alcoholic taste. At low temperatures, more pyramid-like clusters form, which reduces the pungency of the "ethanol" taste and makes the drink taste less alcoholic. On the contrary, as the temperature increases, the clusters become more chain-like, resulting in a more pronounced alcoholic taste. This explains why the taste of some alcoholic drinks, such as baijiu, can change depending on temperature. The data obtained opens up new prospects for beverage manufacturers, ... >>

Indian space probe orbiting Mars 29.09.2014

The first automatic interplanetary station in the history of India, designed to study Mars, reached the orbit of the Red Planet and successfully fixed itself on it. This was reported on the official website of the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO).

The Mangalyaan probe took off on November 5, 2013 using the Indian PSLV launch vehicle from the site of the Space Center. Satish Dhawan on the island of Sriharikota, and after a month in low Earth orbit, headed for Mars. At the end of the flight and checking the condition of the equipment, the probe received a command to launch into orbit.

This process began at 07:17 am on September 24 Indian time (05:47 Moscow time). During the maneuver, the main and eight auxiliary engines worked for 24 minutes. It was possible to receive confirmation of success after another 12,5 minutes, since the probe entered orbit from the shadow side of Mars with respect to the Earth and the connection was temporarily interrupted.

The authors of the project note that the main goal of the mission is to test technologies that are planned to be used in the future for the national manned Martian program, including orbital maneuvers to transfer the device from a geocentric to a heliocentric trajectory, and then into orbit around Mars; development of modeling, calculation and analysis of orbit parameters; navigation at all stages of flight; maintaining two-way communication; working off-line operation in case of emergency situations.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi oversaw Mangalyaan's launch into orbit, later saying that "scientists from India have made history." Indeed, there is something to be proud of here, as India became the first country that single-handedly managed to successfully carry out an automatic mission to Mars on the first attempt. Previously, only countries participating in the work of the European Space Agency managed to achieve such success.

The Indian Space Agency, among other things, became the sixth in the world to send an automatic station to Mars. Before it, similar programs were implemented by the USSR, the USA, Japan, Europe and China. The total cost of the project, according to some estimates, does not exceed $85 million.
