cultivated and wild plants. Legends, myths, symbolism, description, cultivation, methods of application

Velvet bean, or stinging mucuna, is a vine plant and is grown in tropical and subtropical regions of the world.

Tips for growing, harvesting and storing burning mucuna:

Cultivation:

  • Mucuna stinging prefers a warm and humid climate. It can be grown both in the garden and in pots.
  • The plant needs support, so you need to provide it with a support for lifting.
  • It is recommended to plant the plant in a sunny place, but with a light shade in the middle of the day.
  • The land must be fertile and well-drained.
  • It is recommended to add organic fertilizers at planting and periodically throughout the season.

Workpiece:

  • The fruits of the burning mucuna contain grains that can be used to prepare various preparations.
  • To harvest the grains, it is necessary to wait for the full ripening of the fruits and collect them manually.
  • Burning mucuna grains must be cleaned of the shell, which can cause irritation of the skin and mucous membranes.

Storage:

  • Burning mucuna grains can be stored in a dry and cool place in a tightly closed container.
  • It is recommended to use grains within a year after harvesting, as their quality and efficiency may decrease over time.

Energy from space for Starship 08.05.2024

Producing solar energy in space is becoming more feasible with the advent of new technologies and the development of space programs. The head of the startup Virtus Solis shared his vision of using SpaceX's Starship to create orbital power plants capable of powering the Earth. Startup Virtus Solis has unveiled an ambitious project to create orbital power plants using SpaceX's Starship. This idea could significantly change the field of solar energy production, making it more accessible and cheaper. The core of the startup's plan is to reduce the cost of launching satellites into space using Starship. This technological breakthrough is expected to make solar energy production in space more competitive with traditional energy sources. Virtual Solis plans to build large photovoltaic panels in orbit, using Starship to deliver the necessary equipment. However, one of the key challenges ... >>

New method for creating powerful batteries 08.05.2024

With the development of technology and the expanding use of electronics, the issue of creating efficient and safe energy sources is becoming increasingly urgent. Researchers at the University of Queensland have unveiled a new approach to creating high-power zinc-based batteries that could change the landscape of the energy industry. One of the main problems with traditional water-based rechargeable batteries was their low voltage, which limited their use in modern devices. But thanks to a new method developed by scientists, this drawback has been successfully overcome. As part of their research, scientists turned to a special organic compound - catechol. It turned out to be an important component that can improve battery stability and increase its efficiency. This approach has led to a significant increase in the voltage of zinc-ion batteries, making them more competitive. According to scientists, such batteries have several advantages. They have b ... >>

Alcohol content of warm beer 07.05.2024

Beer, as one of the most common alcoholic drinks, has its own unique taste, which can change depending on the temperature of consumption. A new study by an international team of scientists has found that beer temperature has a significant impact on the perception of alcoholic taste. The study, led by materials scientist Lei Jiang, found that at different temperatures, ethanol and water molecules form different types of clusters, which affects the perception of alcoholic taste. At low temperatures, more pyramid-like clusters form, which reduces the pungency of the "ethanol" taste and makes the drink taste less alcoholic. On the contrary, as the temperature increases, the clusters become more chain-like, resulting in a more pronounced alcoholic taste. This explains why the taste of some alcoholic drinks, such as baijiu, can change depending on temperature. The data obtained opens up new prospects for beverage manufacturers, ... >>

Single layer sensor recognizes multiple simultaneous touches 03.03.2012

According to Cypress Semiconductor, they have created the industry's first single-layer touch screen capable of recognizing multiple simultaneous touches. The sensor, which received the designation SLIM (Single-Layer Independent Multitouch), is characterized by high accuracy of touch recognition and responsiveness to user actions. The use of a single-layer panel significantly reduces the cost of the most expensive touch screen component. According to the developers, this will allow adding touch input functions based on the recognition of multiple simultaneous touches to low-cost phones.

Typically, capacitive screens use two-layer sensors. The SLIM structure includes one sensor layer (using indium tin oxide, ITO) and, unlike competing solutions, does not require additional insulating layers. Cypress estimates that this not only reduces the cost by 40%, but also reduces the thickness of the touch screen. SLIM can be applied directly to protective glass, creating the thinnest telephones.

The advantages of SLIM do not end there. The "pattern" of the touch layer is such that it eliminates the need for margins at the edges of the screen, which are typically about 2 mm wide. This, in particular, can help to use larger screens without increasing the dimensions of the device.
