cultivated and wild plants. Legends, myths, symbolism, description, cultivation, methods of application

Oriental ferula, also known as oriental ferula or Ferula orientalis, is a perennial herb used in medicine and cooking.

Tips for growing, harvesting and storing:

Cultivation:

  • Choice of location. Ferula orientalis prefers a sunny location and fertile, well-drained soil. It can be grown both outdoors and in pots.
  • Landing. Ferula orientalis can be planted in the ground in spring or autumn. The distance between plants should be about 30-60 cm. Planting depth is about 2-3 cm.
  • Care. Plants should be regularly watered and fed with compost or mineral fertilizers. It is necessary to remove weeds and loosen the soil to ensure sufficient oxygen in the root zone. It is also necessary to prune to improve the shape and provide new growth.
  • Cleaning. Ferula orientalis can be used to prepare various dishes, both fresh and dried.

Workpiece:

  • Collection. Ferula orientalis should be harvested when it reaches maturity. Plants bloom in June-July. The roots and rhizomes are collected, they are dug up, washed from the ground and peeled.
  • Drying. Harvested roots and rhizomes must be dried in air or in a drying chamber at a temperature not exceeding 40 ° C. To do this, they need to be distributed in one layer on a dry surface and allowed to dry for several days.

Storage:

  • Storage of dry roots and rhizomes. Dry roots and rhizomes of ferula orientalis can be stored in a dry place at room temperature for up to 2 years.
  • Storage in powder form. Oriental ferula roots and rhizomes can be powdered and stored in glass jars or foil bags in a dry and cool place. Oriental ferula powder can be stored for up to 6 months.
  • Storage in the form of pieces. Oriental ferula roots and rhizomes can be cut into pieces and stored in glass jars or foil bags in a dry and cool place. Pieces of ferula orientalis can be stored for up to 1 year.

Ferula orientalis is a valuable plant that can be used as a spice in cooking and for making tinctures and decoctions.

New method for creating powerful batteries 08.05.2024

With the development of technology and the expanding use of electronics, the issue of creating efficient and safe energy sources is becoming increasingly urgent. Researchers at the University of Queensland have unveiled a new approach to creating high-power zinc-based batteries that could change the landscape of the energy industry. One of the main problems with traditional water-based rechargeable batteries was their low voltage, which limited their use in modern devices. But thanks to a new method developed by scientists, this drawback has been successfully overcome. As part of their research, scientists turned to a special organic compound - catechol. It turned out to be an important component that can improve battery stability and increase its efficiency. This approach has led to a significant increase in the voltage of zinc-ion batteries, making them more competitive. According to scientists, such batteries have several advantages. They have b ... >>

Alcohol content of warm beer 07.05.2024

Beer, as one of the most common alcoholic drinks, has its own unique taste, which can change depending on the temperature of consumption. A new study by an international team of scientists has found that beer temperature has a significant impact on the perception of alcoholic taste. The study, led by materials scientist Lei Jiang, found that at different temperatures, ethanol and water molecules form different types of clusters, which affects the perception of alcoholic taste. At low temperatures, more pyramid-like clusters form, which reduces the pungency of the "ethanol" taste and makes the drink taste less alcoholic. On the contrary, as the temperature increases, the clusters become more chain-like, resulting in a more pronounced alcoholic taste. This explains why the taste of some alcoholic drinks, such as baijiu, can change depending on temperature. The data obtained opens up new prospects for beverage manufacturers, ... >>

Controllers for digital control of power supplies 29.07.2007

Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI), continuing to expand its range of digital signal processors (DSP), announced the start of mass production of digital signal processors TMS320F28044 and F2809.

These 32-bit controllers have a performance of 100 MIPS and are ideal for digital power management, motor drive control and information acquisition applications. The F28044 controller allows power system designers to move towards software-based digital control of power supplies.

This controller is designed to organize multi-channel power supply for point-of-load devices, for example, in telecommunications and network equipment, servers, laptops and industrial equipment. Based on the F2809 controllers, due to the presence of a large set of I / O devices and peripheral communication devices, it is possible to create industrial control systems with a high degree of integration.
