Legends, myths, symbolism: In Slavic mythology, glogovina was associated with the goddess of love and beauty, Lada. According to legend, when Lada was swimming in the river, a glogovina tree grew on the river bank. Ethnoscience:

  • To treat diarrhea: prepare an infusion of 1 tablespoon of dried glogovina and 1 cup of boiling water. Steep for 10-15 minutes, then strain and drink 1/2 cup 2-3 times a day to reduce diarrhea symptoms.
  • For the treatment of digestive disorders: daily use a decoction of 1 tablespoon of dried glogovina and 1 cup of boiling water. Steep for 30-40 minutes, then strain and drink 1/2 cup 2-3 times a day to improve digestion and reduce inflammation in the stomach.
  • To treat a cold: prepare an infusion of 2 tablespoons of dried glogovina and 1 cup of boiling water. Steep for 10-15 minutes, then strain and add honey to taste. Drink 1/2 cup 2-3 times a day to reduce cold symptoms such as cough and runny nose.
  • For the treatment of skin diseases: prepare an infusion of 2 tablespoons of dried glogovina and 1 cup of boiling water. Infuse for 30-40 minutes, then strain and use the infusion to wipe the skin with eczema, dermatitis and other skin diseases.

Cosmetology:

  • Face tonic: prepare an infusion of 1 tablespoon of dried glogovina and 1 cup of boiling water. Steep for 30 minutes, then strain and use as a facial tonic to reduce inflammation and improve skin tone.
  • Mask for the face: mix 1 tbsp dried glogovina, 1 tbsp honey and 1 egg white. Apply to face and leave on for 10-15 minutes, then rinse with warm water. This mask will help improve the firmness and elasticity of the skin.
  • Body Scrub: Mix together 1 tablespoon dried glogovina, 1 tablespoon honey, and 1/2 cup brown sugar. Massage your body with this scrub, then rinse with warm water. This scrub will help remove dead skin cells and improve skin texture.
  • Skin oil: mix 1 tablespoon of dried glogovina and 1 cup of olive oil. Steep for 2-3 weeks, then strain and use the oil to hydrate and nourish the skin.
