It is best to put the patient to bed, after changing linens. If the patient is lying on the bed, you need to change the linen as carefully as possible. Having moved the patient to one edge of the bed, they roll the dirty sheet with a roller along the bed, lay the clean sheet on the freed half of the bed, and the part of it, which should lie on the half of the bed occupied by the patient, is also rolled up with a roller along the length.

After the patient is transferred to half of the bed with a clean sheet, the latter is fully deployed, and the patient is moved to the middle of the bed. The sheet should be unfolded so that there are no folds on it under the back and buttocks of the patient. The free edges of the sheet should be tucked under the mattress.

In seriously ill patients, it is necessary to remove linen very carefully. Lifting the shirt as high as possible from the back, it is removed first from the head, and then from the hands. With a sick hand, the shirt is removed from the head and a healthy hand, sometimes first from a healthy hand, then from the head and last of all from a sick hand. First, they put the shirt on the sore arm, then on the head and healthy arm and straighten it, sliding it down the back.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

Medical nano gel 10.02.2021

There is an active debate in modern medicine regarding the need to develop and implement even more effective and versatile options for administering various drugs and drug compounds for those patients who experience various kinds of problems with the traditional invasive method of drug administration.

A team of medical researchers from Stanford University presented their new development of a special nano-gel, which is perfectly amenable to external control and can slowly dissolve in living tissues, thus meeting the main requirement of such a development as a whole.

And the main requirement of a new research project to develop a nano-gel is the need for a gradual and controlled dissolution of such a gel, which can serve as a kind of carrier for various drugs and compounds. The fact is that this kind of gel can serve as a really effective method of integrating medicinal compounds into the body with their gradual release and dissolution, which, in fact, eliminates the need for systematic drug administration, since it operates in a fully automatic mode.

In addition, the specialists managed to find a virtually perfect balance between the degree of control and the autonomy of their gel, since the initial problem was that this gel dissolved too quickly in a warm environment, which was processed by the specialists in its subsequent configuration. In addition, it also uses a special polymer compound in combination with nanoparticles, which gives some complexity to the configuration.

The current version of such a nano-gel does indeed allow researchers to achieve a high level of control and flexibility in manipulating this gel in its role as a carrier and transmitter of desired drug compounds. Thus, at the moment it remains only to wait for the final completion of the current stage of development of the presented nano-gel, which in the future will definitely be able to demonstrate something really promising to its users.
