OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH
Instructions on labor protection during the repair of cable lines and installation of cable boxes. Full document Occupational Safety and Health / Standard instructions for labor protection Safe Operation 1. General requirements for labor protection 1.1. Persons at least 18 years of age who have been trained, instructed in labor protection and have passed the knowledge test of the Rules for the Safe Operation of Consumer Electrical Installations are allowed to carry out repair work on cable power lines and install connecting and terminating cable couplings. 1.2. The work is documented by an order - a permit that determines the safe production of work, determines its content, place, start and end time of work, necessary safety measures, the composition of the team and persons responsible for the safe performance of work. 2. Safety requirements before starting work 2.1. Before performing work, employees are required to use special footwear and overalls issued to them. 2.2. Fasten the sleeves of the clothes at the wrist over the canvas mittens. 2.3. Prepare and check safety goggles, mounting materials and tools. 2.4. Works are carried out in a headdress, it is necessary to ensure that strands of hair do not fall out from under the headdress. 3. Safety requirements during work 3.1. Earthworks are carried out using mechanisms, if it is impossible to use them. manual development is allowed. In the area of underground utilities (electric cables, gas and water pipes, etc.), earthworks are allowed only with the written permission of the organization responsible for their operation. Soil development in the immediate vicinity of existing underground utilities is allowed only with the help of shovels, without sharp blows, it is prohibited to use impact tools (crowbars, picks, wedges, pneumatic tools, etc.). 3.2. If underground structures are found that are not indicated in the drawings, earthworks should be immediately stopped until the nature of the discovered structures is clarified and an appropriate permit for further work is obtained. 3.3. For the passage of workers into the pits and trenches, ladders or ladders should be installed. 3.4. The vertical walls of pits and trenches, if necessary, must be reinforced with ladder-type fasteners or wooden shields. 3.5. The place of work is fenced with the installation of warning inscriptions and signs, and signal lighting is installed at night. 3.5. Before opening the sleeves or cutting the cable, you must make sure that these operations will be performed on the cable on which you need. 3.6. The cable to be repaired should be determined by the joints of the building by tracing, checking the folds according to the diagrams and drawings when laying in the ground. 3.7. Before cutting the cable or opening the coupling, it is necessary to check the absence of voltage using a special tool. The puncture of the cable is carried out by the head of work or allowing under his supervision. The cable should be pierced with dielectric gloves using goggles. 3.8. The cable mass for pouring the couplings is heated in a special metal container from the roofs; oh and a nose. Heating unopened cans of cable mass is prohibited. 3.9. When pouring cable mass, canvas gloves and goggles should be worn. It is forbidden to transfer the vessel with the mass from hand to hand; when transferring, it must be placed on the ground or on a solid foundation. 3.10. While soldering the cable cores, it is necessary to hold the clip-forms with pliers, remove carbon deposits from the surface of the molten solder with a spoon, which is heated before use. The mother of the clip-form is necessary only after the end of soldering and cooling them. When soldering, care must be taken not to burn the cable cover. To avoid overheating of the paper insulation, soldering must be done as quickly as possible (3-4 minutes). The outer jute covers must be carefully removed from the cables. 3.11. At night, the workplace should be lit. 4. Safety requirements after completion of work 4.1. After the completion of hot work, it is necessary to carefully inspect the workplace, pour water on burning materials and eliminate violations that could lead to a fire. 4.2. Tidy up the workplace, remove the tool, blowtorch, cleaning material. 4.3. Backfill an open pit or trench. 4.4. Bring the land occupied for installation and repair work to its previous state. 5. Safety requirements in case of emergencies 5.1. During earthworks, if explosive materials and ammunition are found, work is immediately stopped, work can be resumed only after they have been removed by sappers. 5.2. If malfunctions are detected in the form of leakage of the blowtorch reservoir, its deformation, etc. work must be stopped immediately and the lamp handed over for repair. 5.3. In case of ignition of the cable mass, to extinguish the fire, use an asbestos blanket made of non-combustible heat-insulating fabric, coarse woolen fabric or felt. 5.4. It is allowed to resume hot work only after all fire safety requirements have been met (availability of fire extinguishing equipment, cleaning the workplace from combustible materials, protection of combustible cable structures, etc.). 5.5. When a cable catches fire, the flame must be extinguished with sand or earth, taking measures against the spread of fire along its length.
