3.5. When working in explosion-proof areas, it is not allowed:

  • operate electrical equipment in case of faulty protective grounding, faulty blocking of devices, in violation of the explosion protection of the shell;
  • open the shell of explosion-proof equipment, if the current-carrying parts are energized;
  • turn on an automatically disconnected electrical installation without finding out and eliminating the reason for its disconnection;
  • overload electrical equipment, wires, cables in excess of the nominal parameters;
  • connect to the power sources of intrinsically safe devices other devices and circuits that are not included in the set of this device;
  • replace burned-out electric lamps in explosion-proof lamps with other types of lamps or lamps of higher power than those for which the lamps are designed;
  • use metal ladders when working in electrical installations;
  • leave wide open the doors of rooms and vestibules separating explosive rooms from other explosive and non-explosive rooms.
  • On explosion-proof equipment, it is not allowed to paint over rating plates, it is necessary to restore explosion protection signs, the color of the signs must differ from the color of the equipment, as a rule, the signs are applied with red paint.

3.6. When working with a portable power tool, the following requirements for the tool must be observed:

  • fast inclusion in the network and disconnection from the network (but not spontaneously);
  • have an explosion-proof design, the voltage should not exceed 12 V in rooms with an increased risk of electric shock and outdoors;
  • the possibility of plugging 12 V plugs into sockets for 127 - 220 V must be excluded;
  • during thunderstorms and rain, it is not allowed to work with portable power tools.

3.7. Before starting up temporarily disconnected electrical equipment, you should check and inspect this equipment, make sure that voltage is connected to it and warn the personnel working on it about the upcoming inclusion.

4. Labor protection requirements in emergency situations

4.1. In the event of an emergency (gas contamination, fire), it is necessary to turn off the general switch, stop work, leave the danger zone, inform the shift supervisor, and proceed to eliminate the emergency in accordance with the emergency response plan.

4.2. When catching fire in electrical installations, carbon dioxide and powder fire extinguishers should be used.

4.3. In case of electric shock, it is necessary to release the victim from voltage, provide first aid and, if necessary, call an ambulance. Notify the administration of the organization.

5. Labor protection requirements at the end of work

5.1. Remove barriers prohibiting posters.

5.2. Insert the fuses and turn on the breaker if the equipment is ready for further operation.

5.3. Put away the tool and the remaining materials in their places.

5.4. Make an entry in the operational log of inspection and repair of electrical equipment about the work performed.

5.5. Notify the immediate supervisor of the completion of work.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

Hydrogen truck Mercedes-Benz GenH2 Truck 24.09.2020

The cargo division of the Mercedes-Benz brand introduced the GenH2 concept truck, equipped with fuel cell electric motors. The energy source is liquefied hydrogen, which is stored on board the tractor.

Fuel cells for trucks will be jointly developed by Daimler Truck from Germany and Volvo Group from Sweden. The authors of the project intend to use liquefied hydrogen, because in this state the energy carrier has a much higher energy density compared to volume than gaseous hydrogen. This solution will reduce the volume and mass of fuel tanks.

Mercedes-Benz GenH2 Truck received two 40-liter liquid hydrogen tanks, which will provide a range of up to 1000 km without refueling. The fuel cell system will provide a total of 300 kW of power, with an additional 70 kW stored in the battery - this reserve will help the truck on acceleration or when driving in the city with a full load. Peak power will be 400 kW, but they will be available for a limited period of time. A production truck will be able to replenish the energy reserve in the batteries due to energy recovery during braking or store excess energy from fuel cells.

The hydrogen truck will be equipped with a pair of electric motors. The constant power of each electric motor is 312 hp, but you can temporarily increase the output of the motors up to 449 hp. The serial version of the Mercedes-Benz GenH2 Truck will have a gross weight of 40 tons, taking into account the payload of 25 tons, which is comparable to the performance of the serial Mercedes-Benz Actros with internal combustion engines.
