4.5. The victim or eyewitness must notify the foreman or the appropriate work manager of each accident.

4.6. Each worker must be able to provide first aid. Assistance must be provided immediately at the scene of the incident. The first step is to eliminate the source of injury (turn off the engine, stop the mechanism, remove the victim from under the log, timber, etc.).

The provision of assistance should begin with the most significant that threatens the health or life of a person: in case of severe bleeding, apply a tourniquet, and then bandage the wound; if a closed fracture is suspected, apply a splint; with open fractures, you should first bandage the wound, and then apply a splint; for burns, apply a dry bandage; in case of frostbite, gently rub the affected area using soft or fluffy tissues.

If spinal injuries are suspected, the victim can only be transported in the supine position on a rigid base.

After providing first aid, the victim should be sent to the nearest medical facility.

5. Labor protection requirements at the end of work

5.1. Upon completion of work, you should:

  • stop the line by turning off all electric motors and the main switch;
  • clean the parts and the workplace from wood chips, sawdust and other debris;

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

Magnetic filling in an empty sandwich 28.08.2013

Physicists from Ohio University have proposed a theoretical explanation for the occurrence of magnetic properties at the interface between two substances that do not possess these properties individually.

The scientists studied the interaction of two substances: lanthanum aluminate (LaAlO3) and strontium titanate (SrTiO3). Under normal conditions, both substances do not exhibit magnetic properties and do not conduct electricity. However, if a layer of one substance is superimposed on another, then at the boundary between them, the atoms acquire a magnetic moment and, in addition, electrically conductive properties arise. "It's like jam and butter appearing between two stacked pieces of bread by itself," one of the co-authors of the work, Mohit Randeria, explained the essence of the phenomenon.

Based on the theory of molecular orbitals, scientists have shown exactly how the spins of electrons are ordered at the boundary of non-magnetic substances and it suddenly acquires magnetic properties. This creates an unusual spiral pattern.

According to the authors, this phenomenon can be used to create a new type of electronic devices in which the boundary between two oxides will be involved. Theoretically, such devices would combine the computational properties of a silicon chip with the capabilities of magnetic recording devices. To do this, scientists have to confirm the theoretical conclusions experimentally.

Using the effect of electrical conductivity and magnetism in one device will allow computer memory to be integrated into the processor unit, Randeria said. To date, the most studied way of combining information processing and storage in one electronic component is the use of memristors - resistors with a memory effect. For example, networks of memristors can solve some problems from graph theory.
