Safe Operation

1. General requirements for labor protection

General labor protection requirements are set out in the instructions "General requirements for labor protection for workers engaged in logging and forestry work".

2. Labor protection requirements before starting work

2.1. Before starting work, the wood stacker must:

  • inspect the workplace, check the serviceability of sidewalks, stairs, auxiliary tools for sorting and stacking assortments;
  • check the reliability of the remote control of timber conveyors and alarms;
  • check the presence and serviceability of fences, drive and tension stations of timber conveyors.

2.2. All malfunctions that cannot be eliminated on their own should be reported to the master.

It is not permitted to work on faulty equipment, faulty tools or an unprepared workplace.

3. Labor protection requirements during work

3.1. The employee must perform only the work that is entrusted to him by his immediate supervisor.

3.2. Before launching a timber conveyor, you must make sure that there are no people along its entire length and warn others about the launch.

3.3. When rolling logs onto a timber sorting conveyor, it is prohibited to be in the path of movement of the log.

3.4. Logs must be dropped from the timber conveyor using shanks, kondaks, and tsapins. It is prohibited to be in the movement zone of logs being rolled from a timber conveyor.

3.5. It is not allowed to roll logs onto a timber conveyor and into forest storage areas using hooks “on oneself”. The method of moving timber "onward" is allowed only when separating the assortment from the crosscut log.

3.6. During the operation of the timber conveyor it is prohibited:

  • remove jammed pieces of wood, debris or compressed bark;
  • stand on the working chain of a timber conveyor, moving logs or step over them;
  • pass under the overpass of the timber transporter in unspecified places.

3.7. Descent into timber storage areas to level the ends of logs and ascent from them should be carried out using ladders arranged at the rate of one per two timber storage areas.

3.8. It is prohibited to be in logging dumps or between logging dumps while dumping logs.

3.9. The distance between the logging sites in which round timber is slung and the logging sites into which wood is dumped from the conveyor must be at least twice the length of the logs being dumped.

3.10. It is not permitted to work on cluttered areas, overpasses and sidewalks along logging sites, as well as workplaces not covered with anti-slip materials.

4. Labor protection requirements in emergency situations

4.1. Upon a stop signal, the timber stacker must immediately stop the timber conveyor using a remote control, regardless of who issued the signal. Only the one who gave the stop signal can give the signal to continue working.

4.2. If it is necessary to eliminate a malfunction during operation and maintenance, it is necessary to stop the timber conveyor and turn off the switch.

4.3. The victim or eyewitness must notify the foreman or the appropriate work manager of each accident.

4.4. Each worker must be able to provide first aid. Assistance must be provided immediately at the scene of the incident. The first step is to eliminate the source of injury (turn off the engine, stop the mechanism, remove the victim from under the whip, etc.).

The provision of assistance should begin with the most significant that threatens the health or life of a person: in case of severe bleeding, apply a tourniquet, and then bandage the wound; if a closed fracture is suspected, apply a splint; with open fractures, you should first bandage the wound, and then apply a splint; for burns, apply a dry bandage; in case of frostbite, gently rub the affected area using soft or fluffy tissues.

If spinal injuries are suspected, the victim can only be transported in the supine position on a rigid base.

After providing first aid, the victim should be sent to the nearest medical facility.

5. Labor protection requirements at the end of work

5.1. Upon completion of work, you should:

  • clear sidewalks and timber conveyor belts of debris and other foreign objects;
  • Gather the tools and take them to the designated storage area.

5.2. Any deficiencies in the field of labor protection must be reported to the foreman or the relevant work manager.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

Controller Marvell 88NV1160 10.08.2016

Marvell has announced the release of the SSD controller, designated 88NV1160. The controller does not need DRAM memory for its operation and supports the NVMe protocol. The manufacturer notes that Marvell 88NV1160 demonstrates the industry's best energy efficiency and read speeds up to 1600 MB / s. The BGA controller occupies only 9 x 10 mm of space on the board, making it suitable for M.2230 and M.2242 drives used in ultra-thin systems.

The controller complies with the NVMe 1.3 specification and supports host memory buffering. It integrates a dual-core ARM Cortex-R5 processor, hardware accelerators, and SRAM memory. The controller is compatible with 15nm 2D TLC and 3D TLC/QLC flash, supports ONFI3 and Toggle2 NAND. It is produced on 28-nanometer technology.

Marvell 88NV1160 trial samples are already available to customers.
