Safe Operation

1. General requirements for labor protection

1.1. Postmen can start independent work on delivering telegrams only after a preliminary medical examination, training in safety regulations, fire safety and traffic, familiarization with the delivery site, who are able to provide assistance in case of accidents.

1.2. When a postman uses a bicycle, he must be trained to ride it and know the requirements for its maintenance.

1.3. Each postman must know the Rules of the Road for Pedestrians and the places of dangerous crossings in his delivery area.

1.4. When delivering telegrams, the following hazards are typical:

  • moving vehicles;
  • unsatisfactory condition of roads;
  • impact of atmospheric precipitation and temperatures;
  • insufficient illumination of the working area;
  • animal bites.

2. Labor protection requirements before delivery

2.1 Tidy up the workplace for preparing telegrams for delivery.

2.2. Get briefing on special delivery conditions due to changes in weather and other circumstances, wear overalls, take a whistle with you.

2.3. When using a bicycle, it is necessary to check the serviceability of the brake and bell.

2.4. If the delivery will be made in the dark - take an electric flashlight with you.

3. Labor protection requirements for the delivery of telegrams

3.1. Walking is allowed only on footpaths (sidewalks), and where there are none, on the left side of the road (that is, towards traffic).

The road should be crossed only at a right angle and in places where it is clearly visible in both directions.

It is allowed to cross the street in populated areas only at pedestrian crossings marked with a road sign (a black silhouette of a walking person against a white triangle on a blue rectangle). At regulated intersections, crossing is allowed only with a green traffic light, and where crossings are not marked, only at street intersections along the line of sidewalks or shoulders.

Before crossing a street or road, you need to look to the left, making sure that it is completely safe, and start moving. Having reached the middle of the street (road), you need to look to the right.

Do not linger and do not stop at intersections. If you did not have time to complete the transition, you should be waiting for further permission to move at the intersection on the traffic island or on the line dividing the traffic flows of opposite directions.

When approaching a car that gives special sound or flashing light signals of red or blue color, you should immediately leave the intersection or refrain from crossing.

3.2. Wait for the bus only at the landing sites, and where there are none - on the sidewalk or roadside. Bypass the standing bus should only be behind.

It is necessary to get into and out of the vehicle only on the right side and at a complete stop.

Z.Z. Special care must be taken when avoiding vehicles and other obstacles that restrict the visibility of the carriageway.

3.4. Be careful when crossing railroad tracks, especially on curved sections. Crossing is allowed only at specially equipped crossings.

3.5. When entering the addressee's apartment, you must follow him, remembering that there may be open cellars, cellars, dogs without a leash.

3.6. If there is an unattached dog in the addressee's yard, demand that it be tied. Stay away from stray dogs.

3.7. To move on the carriageway of the road on a bicycle should be at a distance of no more than 1 meter from its right edge. When crossing railroad tracks as well as roads (streets), you should get off the bike and drive it.

3.8. The postman is prohibited from:

  • violate the established bypass route;
  • cross the road in front of approaching vehicles;
  • use passing vehicles that are not intended for the transport of people.

3.9. If the weather worsens, take all measures to exclude injuries.

4. Labor protection requirements at the end of work

4.1. Hang your overalls to store or dry.

4.2. Write in a special journal about the shortcomings at your delivery site (faulty ladders, the presence of unleashed dogs among citizens, etc.) and inform your immediate supervisor about this for taking the necessary measures.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

Petgugu Global cat litter 15.04.2024

Taking care of pets can often be a challenge, especially when it comes to keeping your home clean. A new interesting solution from the Petgugu Global startup has been presented, which will make life easier for cat owners and help them keep their home perfectly clean and tidy. Startup Petgugu Global has unveiled a unique cat toilet that can automatically flush feces, keeping your home clean and fresh. This innovative device is equipped with various smart sensors that monitor your pet's toilet activity and activate to automatically clean after use. The device connects to the sewer system and ensures efficient waste removal without the need for intervention from the owner. Additionally, the toilet has a large flushable storage capacity, making it ideal for multi-cat households. The Petgugu cat litter bowl is designed for use with water-soluble litters and offers a range of additional ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

A polymer that heals itself 16.10.2018

Self-healing materials have been known for a long time. Such materials can be, for example, polymers, inside of which capsules or channels with a liquid substance are located: when a thing is damaged, they fill the damaged area and quickly harden.

There are several other approaches to the creation of such materials, but almost all of them, one way or another, are associated with the presence of active substances inside the object. Therefore, the solution to the problem proposed by researchers from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) turned out to be rather unusual - they created a substance that takes material for recovery directly from the air.

It is rather problematic to build something out of air, the assortment of "building material" is too scarce: nitrogen, oxygen, carbon dioxide and water, although nature can overcome these difficulties. The researchers just peeped part of their technology in plants, which learned how to process carbon dioxide into complex organic substances in the process of photosynthesis. Chemists at MIT isolated chloroplasts from living cells, placed them in a polymer gel matrix, and provided them with an enzyme and monomer molecules.

The result was the following: the chloroplast in the matrix absorbs carbon dioxide from the air and, under the influence of light, turns it into a number of products, the main of which is glucose. Further, under the action of the enzyme glucose oxidase, glucose is converted into gluconolactone, and the resulting compound, in turn, already reacts with the monomer (aminopropyl methacrylamide), resulting in the formation of a polymer. It turns out that the original gel matrix absorbs carbon dioxide from the air and includes it in its polymer structure, thereby independently gaining mass from an external source.

As the researchers themselves say, their work so far is just a demonstration of a fundamentally new concept of a material capable of self-healing.
