General safety requirements

1. Thermal insulators who have undergone appropriate training, have professional skills and do not have age-related contraindications for the work performed, before being allowed to work independently, must undergo:

  • mandatory preliminary (when applying for a job) and periodic (during employment) medical examinations (examinations) for recognition as fit for work in the manner established by the Ministry of Health of Russia;
  • training in safe methods and techniques for performing work, briefing on labor protection.

2. Thermal insulators are required to comply with labor safety requirements to ensure protection from the impact of hazardous and harmful production factors related to the nature of work:

  • increased dust content and gas contamination of the working area;
  • increased temperature of the surfaces of equipment, materials and air of the working area;
  • location of the workplace near a height difference of 1,3 m or more;
  • sharp edges, burrs and roughness on the surface of materials and equipment.

3. To protect against mechanical impacts, high temperatures, thermal insulators are required to use cotton overalls provided by employers free of charge, leather boots, canvas knee pads (on wadding), canvas mittens, suits with insulating padding and felt boots for the winter period. For hot work and work in wet ground, instead of a cotton suit, it is necessary to use a canvas suit.

Thermal insulators must wear protective helmets when on site. When working at height from cradles or directly from the equipment, a safety belt should be used.

4. Being on the territory of the construction (production) site, in production and amenity premises, work sites and workplaces, thermal insulators are obliged to comply with the internal labor regulations adopted in this organization.

Admission of unauthorized persons, as well as employees in a state of intoxication to these places is prohibited.

5. In the course of daily activities, thermal insulators must:

  • use in the process of work small-scale mechanization, machines and mechanisms for their intended purpose, in accordance with the instructions of manufacturers;
  • maintain order at workplaces, clean them of debris, snow, ice, prevent violations of the rules for storing materials and structures;
  • be careful during work and avoid violations of labor safety requirements.

6. Thermal insulators are obliged to immediately notify their immediate or higher supervisor of any situation that threatens the life and health of people, about each accident that occurred at work, or about the deterioration of their health, including the appearance of an acute occupational disease (poisoning).

Safety requirements before starting work

7. Before starting work, thermal insulators must:

a) be instructed at the workplace on the specifics of the work performed;

11. When performing work with the use of wire, thermal insulators should wear safety glasses and use wire cutters to cut off the wire.

12. When plastering the surfaces of building structures, pipelines or equipment, thermal insulators must ensure that the base for plastering does not have protruding ends of the wire that can break the glove and injure the palm.

13. When working from scaffolds, cradles or aerial platforms, thermal insulators must use a safety belt. At the same time, thermal insulators must carry tools and small parts in a bag. In order to avoid falling of tools, it is not allowed to leave them at the edge of scaffolding or scaffolding, as well as on pipeline structures.

14. For access to the workplace when working at height, it is necessary to use equipped access systems (stairs, ladders, bridges).

15. When installing suspended scaffolds, the places for their suspension must be indicated by the work manager after agreement with the organization operating pipelines and equipment.

16. When working in existing workshops, near moving parts of mechanisms, bare wires and live parts of electrical equipment under voltage, as well as near hot pipelines or tested equipment and pipelines, thermal insulators must comply with the labor protection requirements set forth in the work permit.

17. When working with aromatic adhesives (isolite, lesfol, etc.) indoors, thermal insulators must use containers, tools and scaffolding made of materials that exclude sparking (non-ferrous metals, plastic, wood), and also be in shoes without nails, and in clothes without metal buckles, buttons, etc.).

Safety requirements in emergency situations

18. If a leak of gases or other product from pipelines is detected during operation, thermal insulators must immediately stop work, leave the dangerous place and report the incident to the work manager.

19. When materials ignite, thermal insulators are obliged to take measures to extinguish the source of fire, and if it is impossible to eliminate it on their own, call the fire brigade and inform the work manager.

20. If a malfunction of scaffolding, scaffolding and other means of ensuring work at height is detected, work should be suspended, leave the dangerous place and report the violation of safety requirements to the work manager.

21. Fibers of mineral wool (glass wool) that have fallen on the unprotected surface of the skin must be removed carefully, avoiding rubbing them. If dust and glass wool fibers get into the eyes, contact a healthcare professional.

Safety requirements at the end of work

22. Upon completion of work, thermal insulators must:

a) clean the workplace from debris and waste building materials;

b) clean the tools, containers and materials used in the process of performing the task and put them in the place provided for this;

c) inform the foreman or work manager about all the problems that have arisen during work.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

NVidia Tegra for self-driving cars 29.08.2014

Nvidia has ready solutions in the development of processors that can improve driving safety. For example, the Nvidia Tegra K1 platform with a built-in 192-core GPU based on the Kepler architecture can process in real time a visual image formed on the basis of data recorded by built-in cameras, radars and laser scanners.

Similar systems, tested on Audi vehicles, help drivers park and move through traffic jams. In five years, these technologies will form the basis of unmanned vehicles, says Danny Shapiro, director of automotive development at Nvidia.

Now Tegra chips are widely used in multimedia systems, but the American company does not intend to stop only at entertainment functions and sees high prospects in the use of proprietary microcircuits in the field of ensuring safe driving.

According to the official Nvidia blog, more than 6 million machines in the world are equipped with the Tegra platform, and this number is growing rapidly. In particular, the chips can be found in the Audi lineup, Tesla Model S and BMW i3 and i8 electric vehicles, as well as the new Mini Cooper S and Rolls Royce Wraith.

As Danny Shapiro told KitGuru, the modern infotainment market is lagging behind the development of the processor industry due to long testing and preparation for mass production of automotive devices. An Nvidia spokesman says that due to the proprietary Visual Computing Module (VCM) modular platform, it was possible to reduce the hardware upgrade cycle of regular systems in Audi cars from five to six years to two. The VCM platform allows machines to be equipped with the most modern Tegra-based multimedia systems at the later stages of machine design.

Audi previously tested a robotic prototype of the A7 hatchback, capable of moving independently at speeds up to 64 km/h.
BMW and General Motors have previously announced their plans to launch the production of self-driving cars by 2020. In addition, similar developments are underway at Volvo, Cadillac, Toyota, Google and Continental.
