Safe Operation

1. General requirements for labor protection

1.1. When applying for a job, each worker must undergo an introductory general safety briefing, and when transferring him from one job to another (at least for a short time), as well as from one workshop to another, he must undergo a safety briefing at that workplace from the foreman which he will serve,

1.2. Persons under the age of 18 who have passed a medical examination, have been trained in maintenance, safe methods and techniques of work during cutting, have studied the safety instructions and have been instructed at the workplace are allowed to work independently as a cutter working on a punching press.

1.3. Improper handling of the press can lead to electrical and mechanical injuries.

1.4. Dangerous places of the press are - cutter shapes:

power systems of the press;
drummer during a turn;
zone between the plate and the striker.

1.5. For non-compliance with this instruction, the perpetrators are subject to disciplinary liability in accordance with the Internal Labor Regulations.

2. Labor protection requirements before starting work

2.1. Punching presses must be equipped with an automatic pressure regulator.

2.2 The device and design of the cutters should provide a free neck of the cut-out parts.

2.3. Presses must have a blocked push-button device for starting and stopping the press, which excludes the possibility of starting with one hand, and a device (switch) to turn off the electric motor for the entire stop.

2.4. To prevent injury to the hands of working presses, they must have special devices that prevent spontaneous lowering of the upper cushion of the press.

2.5. Presses must be equipped with a device for collecting industrial waste.

2.6. Before starting work, make sure that the press is in good condition - whether the press produces double blows. To do this, perform 2-3 blank strokes (first without torch and material, then with torch and material).

2.7. Check - the presence of a drummer fence, lighting.

the presence and fastening of the ground wire, the absence of bare grounds;
reliability of operation of safety valves.
the serviceability of the signal light warning the readiness of the hydraulic drive, the absence of foreign objects in the workplace;
the presence of an insulating gasket under the punching plate and the serviceability of the technological contact.
serviceability of personal clothing, remove hair under a headdress (scarf);
serviceability of cutters, perforators, make sure that curly lines are in good condition (no cracks, notches and burrs), the height of the cutters used must be at least 12,5 mm; there is a place for storing cutters (must be fenced).

2.8. Make sure that the height of the cutters in one is the same, the surface of the cutting plate (deck) and the contact plate of the striker are always smooth, potholes, dents, traces of paint or grease.

2.9. A person working on cutting out parts is allowed to use the on and off buttons, the press on the control panel. Adjustment buttons, drummer, the right to use only the repairman.

3. Labor protection requirements during work

3.1. Make sure that no one else is in the zone of movement of the press.

3.2 Turning off the power supply of the press by pressing the buttons, the control panel should light up the signal lamp.

3.3 Move the striker to the extreme right (initial) position, after which, lay out the material to be cut out on the plate so as not to cover the press control buttons.

3.4. Laying out the material on the cutting plate, installing cutters, adjusting and removing them after cutting out is allowed only after the striker has been moved to the extreme right position.

3.5. The perimeter of the cutting edges of the cutters used in one set for punching out parts should not exceed 110 cm; the height of the cutters should be the same.

4.14. With both hands, smoothly without jerking, simultaneously press the palm buttons located on the protruding brackets on the sides of the front of the press. Hands should remain on the palm buttons until the details are cut through.

Repetition of work is allowed only after the automatic retraction of the striker to its original position.

3.6. If the press is activated by pressing one button, it is forbidden to work on it.

3.7. Release the cutter stuck in the block only when the electric motor is switched off.

3.8. The cutter should cut into the deck around the entire perimeter by no more than 0,5 mm.

3.9. Release cutters from punched parts with a pin or other device, but not by hand.

3.10. Store cutters with blades down in a special place, do not stack them on top of each other, take them by the sides without touching the blade.

3.11. It is forbidden: to use cutters in a set with a cutting edge perimeter of more than 110 cm, a height of less than 12,5 mm of different heights:

use cutters with blunt, riveted blades.
put foreign objects on the press plate;
leave one hand on the palmar power button;
correct the shape of the cutters under the impactors;
during the operation of the press, clean, adjust, lubricate, replace and fasten parts.
work on the press with a faulty signal light, open fences of hydraulic and electrical systems, with faulty process contacts, with faulty control buttons.

3.12. Do not leave the press unattended with the engine running. Switch off during work breaks by pressing the control button.

3.13. In case of any malfunction, turn off the press and call a repairman.

4. Labor protection requirements in emergency situations

4.1. In case of injury, contact the first-aid post and inform the head.

4.2. If any malfunctions are found, call a repairman, having previously disconnected the press from the power supply.

5. Labor protection requirements at the end of work

5.1. Disconnect the press from the power supply by pressing the off button, turn off the wall switch.

5.2. Remove the cut parts, waste in the designated places. Clean the workplace every shift, keep it clean.

5.3. Give the place to the shifter, inform him and the management of the site about the shortcomings noticed during the work.
