Safe Operation

1. General safety requirements

1.1. Persons who have no medical contraindications, have reached the age of 18 and have passed:

  • induction training;
  • fire safety briefing;
  • initial briefing at the workplace;
  • training in safe working methods and techniques for at least 20 hours, as for work with increased danger.
  • instructing on electrical safety at the workplace and checking the assimilation of its content.

1.2. The fitter for the installation of gas-cylinder equipment must pass:

  • repeated briefing on labor safety at the workplace at least every three months;
  • verification of knowledge of the Rules for the Design and Safe Operation of Pressure Vessels;
  • unscheduled briefing: when changing the technological process or labor protection rules, replacing or modernizing production equipment, fixtures and tools, changing working conditions and organization, in case of violations of labor protection instructions, breaks in work for more than 60 calendar days (for work, to which are subject to increased security requirements - 30 calendar days);
  • dispensary medical examination according to the order of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation No. 90 dated March 14.03.96, XNUMX.

1.3. The mechanic for the installation of gas-cylinder equipment is obliged to:

  • comply with the internal labor regulations established at the enterprise;
  • observe safety rules when installing gas-balloon equipment;
  • comply with the requirements of this manual, fire safety instructions, electrical safety instructions;
  • comply with the requirements for the operation of equipment;
  • use for its intended purpose and take care of the issued personal protective equipment;
  • be able to use PPE, a gas analyzer, be able to provide first aid to victims of suffocation, carbon monoxide poisoning, burns, electric shock.

1.4. The fitter for the installation of gas-cylinder equipment must:

  • be able to provide first (pre-medical) assistance to the victim in an accident;
  • know the location of first aid, primary fire extinguishing equipment, main and emergency exits, evacuation routes in case of an accident or fire;
  • perform only the assigned work and not transfer it to others without the permission of the foreman or head of the workshop;
  • during work, be attentive, not be distracted and not distract others, do not allow persons who are not related to work to the workplace;
  • keep the workplace clean and tidy.

1.5. A mechanic installing gas equipment must know and observe the rules of personal hygiene. Eat, smoke, and rest only in specially designated rooms and places. Drink water only from specially designed installations.

1.6. If any malfunctions of equipment, fixtures, tools and other shortcomings or hazards are found in the workplace, immediately inform the foreman or head of the workshop. You can start work only with their permission after the elimination of all deficiencies.

1.7. If a fire is detected or in the event of a fire:

  • turn off the equipment;
  • inform the fire brigade and administration;
  • start extinguishing the fire with the primary fire extinguishing equipment available in the workshop in accordance with the fire safety instructions.

In case of a threat to life - leave the premises.

1.8. In case of an accident, provide the victim with first (pre-medical) aid, immediately report the incident to the foreman or head of the workshop, take measures to preserve the situation of the incident (equipment condition), if this does not create a danger to others.

1.9. For failure to comply with the safety requirements set out in these instructions, the fitter for installing gas equipment is liable in accordance with current legislation.

1.10. In accordance with the “Standard industry standards for the free issuance of special clothing, special shoes and other personal protective equipment to workers and employees,” a mechanic installing gas equipment is entitled to a cotton suit (wearing period - 12 months) and combined mittens (wearing period - 2 months), boots rubber, in winter additionally - a jacket with an insulating lining, trousers with an insulating lining.

1.11. The main hazardous and harmful production factors under certain circumstances can be:

  • suffocation from lack of oxygen when working in a gassed room;
  • electric current;
  • pressure vessels.
  • hot surfaces of pipelines on injection lines;
  • work at height;
  • increased noise;
  • poisoning by products of incomplete combustion of gas;
  • frostbite of the skin as a result of exposure to liquefied gas when it exits from faulty equipment.

2. Safety requirements before starting work

2.1. Examine the clothing and make sure it is in good condition. Put on overalls, fasten it with all buttons, put your hair under a headdress.

2.2. Before carrying out installation work, make sure that the technical condition of the vehicle meets the requirements of the manufacturer's instructions.

2.3. Check your workplace. Make sure that it is sufficiently illuminated and not cluttered with foreign objects, that the tool for use in explosive conditions is lubricated with grease (or copper-plated).

2.4. The floor in the workplace must be flat and not slippery.

2.5. Check the availability and serviceability of the working tool. The hammer should be mounted on an oval handle with a length of 300-350 mm, wedged with a metal pointed wedge, the surface of the striker should be slightly convex and without burrs. Wrenches must correspond to the nominal sizes, it is forbidden to build up wrenches with other items. All percussion instruments must be made of tool steel. The handles of hand tools must be well fitted and have a smooth surface without cracks or burrs.

2.6. When working with lifting gear, check the test date. Make sure that the terms of use of the mechanisms have not expired.

2.7. When using ladders, make sure they are in good working order. Extension ladders must have mortise treads and metal spikes (for installation on wood or dirt floors) or rubber tips (for installation on concrete or stone floors). Stepladders must have a device that prevents them from spontaneously moving apart.

2.8. Check the serviceability of the gas cylinder that will be installed on the car. (Cylinders must meet the requirements of the Rules for the Design and Safe Operation of Pressure Vessels).

2.9. It is forbidden to install cylinders in which:

  • missing passport data;
  • examination period has expired;
  • there are external damages (cracks, cavities with a depth of more than 10% of the nominal thickness of the cylinder wall);
  • adapters and valves are faulty;
  • coloring and inscriptions do not meet the requirements.

2.10. If you need to use a portable lamp, check it: the presence of a protective grid, the serviceability of the cord and insulating tube, the serviceability of the socket and plug. The voltage of portable lamps should not exceed 42 V. Do not use self-made portable lamps.

2.11. When preparing a vehicle for conversion, you must:

  • wash the car, especially those places where the conversion will be carried out (under the hood, inside the cabin, on the frame and other places);
  • drain gasoline from the fuel tank and pipelines of the power system.

2.12. Report any faults noticed during the inspection to the master and proceed to work after troubleshooting.

3. Safety requirements during work

3.1. Equipment, pipelines, main and flow valves must be installed in accordance with TU-200-RF -12-537-86 (Technical conditions for converting trucks into gas cylinders) and must be sealed, preventing the penetration of gas into the cabin, as well as into the atmosphere.

3.2. Cylinders installed on a car must be painted red, have passport data printed on them in accordance with current regulations and the inscription “Propane” or “Methane” in white paint.

3.3. Installation of cylinders on a car must be done using lifting mechanisms, after first making sure that there is no gas in the cylinder.

3.4. Compressed natural gas cylinders installed on a vehicle must be made of the same grade of steel and have the same inspection period. When installing such cylinders on a car, it is necessary to maintain the distances from the neck to the structural elements that comply with the technical documentation. Rubber gaskets must be placed in the places where the cylinders are attached. Cylinders must be secured in such a way that they cannot be rotated or moved.

3.5. Before installing high-pressure gas pipelines, it is necessary to blow them with compressed air and inspect them (no cracks or damage are allowed).

3.6. When installing adapters and valves on cylinders, the following rules must be observed:

  • to ensure tightness, conical threads must be lubricated (with lead litharge, liquid glass or red lead);
  • the tightening force of the conical threads of adapters and valves should correspond to 45-50 kgf, for which torque wrenches are used;
  • when installing adapters and valves, the cylinder must be installed in a special clamping device that prevents it from turning;
  • newly screwed adapters and valves must have no more than four threads that do not fit into the threaded sockets.
  • 3.7. After assembly, the power system together with the cylinder must be checked for leaks with air, nitrogen or inert gases under operating pressure; Threaded connections are checked using a soap emulsion or a special leak detector.

3.8. When carrying out electrical installation work, the following requirements must be met:

  • fixed wires should not rotate relative to the terminals of the devices;
  • the wires going into the engine compartment to the low gas pressure sensor, solenoid gasoline valve, solenoid gas valve, solenoid start valve and other elements of electrical equipment of gas cylinder equipment should not touch the heated parts of the car;
  • It is not allowed to touch metal parts of the car with live terminals of devices and wire tips;
  • wires should not be located on sharp edges and ribs of the car;
  • insulating tubes must be tightly fitted on the wire ends;
  • Sharp bends of the wires, as well as twisting them after connecting to electrical equipment, are not allowed.

3.9. The "mass" switch must be installed in the vehicle's cabin in a place convenient for the driver.

3.10. High pressure gas pipeline pipes must be painted red.

3.11. A fitter for the installation of gas-balloon equipment is prohibited.

  • carry out repairs of cylinders filled with liquefied gas;
  • use open fire, turn on and off the lighting in the premises where gas-cylinder installations are installed, during the change of cylinders;
  • check the density of gas pipelines, fittings and devices, as well as warm up gas pipelines using open fire;
  • burn solvent residues in undesignated places.

4. Safety requirements in emergency situations

4.1. If a fire occurs during installation of the cylinder, it is necessary to stop installation work, notify management and begin to eliminate the fire using available means.

4.2. If you are injured, you must contact a medical professional. item and notify the master.

5. Safety requirements at the end of work

5.1. Ventilate the room in which the work was carried out.

5.2. Report to the work manager about all malfunctions, malfunctions that occurred during work, and the measures taken to eliminate them.

5.3. Clean overalls and safety shoes from dust and dirt. By shaking, release the overalls from the possible presence of gas in its folds, especially in the sleeves, before that, open fire should not be used

Equipment and tools should be put away in a place specially designated for them.

To avoid spontaneous combustion, place oiled rags in a metal container with a lid.

5.5. Remove and put away in a specially designated place (closet) overalls.

5.6. Wash hands and face thoroughly. Take a shower if possible.
