The main regulatory documents that establish the requirements for labor protection and safety in the confectionery industry are the Labor Code of the Russian Federation and the Rules for labor protection in the confectionery industry, approved by Order of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation dated February 10, 2003 No. 48. The labor protection requirements contained in these Rules apply to all organizations, regardless of their organizational and legal forms, are obligatory for execution when carrying out any type of activity in the production of confectionery products on the territory of the Russian Federation, including the operation of facilities, the design of machines, mechanisms and other equipment, the development of technological processes, the organization of production and labor .

The feature isthat the confectionery industry mainly uses the labor of women, therefore, by-laws regulating the protection of women's labor are also subject to application (see para. Women's labor protection).

The confectionery industry is related to food products, so here special attention should be paid to compliance with the sanitary norms and rules established for the food industry, as well as the rules of personal hygiene for workers. Since non-compliance with elementary rules can sometimes lead to adverse consequences for consumers. Only persons who have passed a mandatory medical examination are allowed to work in the confectionery industry.
