Вventilation - this is an air exchange in the room to remove excess heat, moisture, harmful and other air pollutants in order to ensure acceptable microclimatic conditions and air purity.

In production conditions, ventilation varies:

  • according to the method of air movement - natural and mechanical;
  • according to the form of air exchange organization - local and general exchange.

Types of ventilation units are:

  • exhaust (designed to remove air) - local and general;
  • supply (carry out air supply) - local (air showers, curtains, oases) and general (scattered or concentrated inflow).

With natural ventilation, air exchange occurs due to the temperature difference, and, consequently, the specific mass of air inside the production room and outside it, i.e. under the influence of thermal pressure, as well as due to the influence of wind (wind pressure). The effect of these factors is the greater, the greater the temperature difference in the upper and lower zones of the room and the greater the height of the room.

Natural ventilation of industrial premises can be unorganized and organized.

With unorganized ventilation (ventilation), air enters and leaves through windows, vents, special openings, as well as through leaks in external fences (infiltration).

Organized (regulated) natural ventilation of industrial premises is called aeration.

Unlike natural ventilation, mechanical ventilation allows pre-treatment of the supply air - humidification, heating or cooling and cleaning from dust, gases and other impurities.

General exchange ventilation is used in cases where harmful substances, excess (mainly convection) heat and moisture are released dispersed throughout the working room and it is not technically possible to remove them using local exhausts, as well as in cases where it is necessary to dilute the remaining air to MPC not removed by local suction.

Supply air must be processed: heated or cooled, cleaned from dust, and in some cases - humidified.

Air recirculation in supply and exhaust ventilation systems is used during the cold and transitional seasons in order to save heat spent on air heating. During recirculation, part of the air removed from the room after appropriate purification from harmful substances is again sent to the room.

Air conditioning - creation and automatic regulation in the premises of the specified parameters of the microclimate and sanitary and hygienic parameters (temperature, humidity, air mobility). Air conditioning systems must supply dust-free air. Sometimes there are requirements for air purification from bacteria, for its ionization, deodorization or aromatization.

The volume of air removed from the room by exhaust ventilation units must be compensated by an organized supply of clean air. An unorganized inflow of outside air to compensate for the exhaust during the cold period of the year is allowed 1 time per hour, if there is no hypothermia of the air and the formation of fog.

Of particular importance is an efficient ventilation system in industries using explosive substances. "Rules for the design, manufacture, installation, repair and safe operation of explosion-proof fans" were approved by the Decree of the Gosgortekhnadzor of Russia dated June 10, 2003 No. 84 (PB 03-590-03).

Machine for thinning flowers in gardens 02.05.2024

In modern agriculture, technological progress is developing aimed at increasing the efficiency of plant care processes. The innovative Florix flower thinning machine was presented in Italy, designed to optimize the harvesting stage. This tool is equipped with mobile arms, allowing it to be easily adapted to the needs of the garden. The operator can adjust the speed of the thin wires by controlling them from the tractor cab using a joystick. This approach significantly increases the efficiency of the flower thinning process, providing the possibility of individual adjustment to the specific conditions of the garden, as well as the variety and type of fruit grown in it. After testing the Florix machine for two years on various types of fruit, the results were very encouraging. Farmers such as Filiberto Montanari, who has used a Florix machine for several years, have reported a significant reduction in the time and labor required to thin flowers. ... >>

Advanced Infrared Microscope 02.05.2024

Microscopes play an important role in scientific research, allowing scientists to delve into structures and processes invisible to the eye. However, various microscopy methods have their limitations, and among them was the limitation of resolution when using the infrared range. But the latest achievements of Japanese researchers from the University of Tokyo open up new prospects for studying the microworld. Scientists from the University of Tokyo have unveiled a new microscope that will revolutionize the capabilities of infrared microscopy. This advanced instrument allows you to see the internal structures of living bacteria with amazing clarity on the nanometer scale. Typically, mid-infrared microscopes are limited by low resolution, but the latest development from Japanese researchers overcomes these limitations. According to scientists, the developed microscope allows creating images with a resolution of up to 120 nanometers, which is 30 times higher than the resolution of traditional microscopes. ... >>

Air trap for insects 01.05.2024

Agriculture is one of the key sectors of the economy, and pest control is an integral part of this process. A team of scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Central Potato Research Institute (ICAR-CPRI), Shimla, has come up with an innovative solution to this problem - a wind-powered insect air trap. This device addresses the shortcomings of traditional pest control methods by providing real-time insect population data. The trap is powered entirely by wind energy, making it an environmentally friendly solution that requires no power. Its unique design allows monitoring of both harmful and beneficial insects, providing a complete overview of the population in any agricultural area. “By assessing target pests at the right time, we can take necessary measures to control both pests and diseases,” says Kapil ... >>

The debut of the robot conductor 18.09.2017

Musicians led by a robot played three pieces at the opening of the first International Festival of Robotics in Tuscany.

The YuMi robot, developed by the Swiss company ABB, made its debut as a conductor at the Teatro Verdi in Pisa, opening the event. According to Andrea Colombini, permanent conductor of the orchestra, the musicians needed time to understand the movements of the robot; when they succeeded, everything became quite simple. Colombini also noted that the device's gestures were perfect in duration and speed, most importantly.

YuMi was taught all the professional movements of Colombini, who specifically "trained" the robot. At the same time, the device is not capable of improvising, and if there were an unexpected change in tempo on the part of the musicians, the performance would fail.

At the opening of the festival, musicians led by YuMi played three of the eighteen pieces, including the aria La donna e mobile (in the most famous translation - "The heart of beauties is prone to treason") from Giuseppe Verdi's opera "Rigoletto".
