Qualification requirements:

Assistant dentist of the highest category: higher education (junior specialist) in the field of training "Medicine", specialty "Dentistry". Specialization according to work profile. Advanced training (advanced courses, etc.). Availability of a certificate of assignment (confirmation) of the highest qualification category in this specialty. Work experience in the specialty for more than 10 years.
Assistant dentist of the 7st qualification category: higher education (technical) in the field of training “Medicine”, specialty “Dentistry”. Specialization according to work profile. Advanced training (advanced courses, etc.). Availability of a certificate of assignment (confirmation) of the first qualification category in this specialty. Work experience in the specialty for more than XNUMX years.
Assistant dentist, II qualification category: higher education (technical) in the field of training "Medicine", specialty "Dentistry". Specialization according to work profile. Advanced training (advanced courses, etc.). Availability of a certificate of assignment (confirmation) of the II qualification category in this specialty. Work experience in the specialty for more than 5 years.
Assistant dentist: higher education (junior specialist) in the field of training "Medicine", specialty "Dentistry". Specialization according to work profile. No work experience requirements.

II. Official duties

Guided by the current legislation of Ukraine on health care and regulations that determine the activities of health care institutions and the organization of dental care for the population.
Applies modern methods of prevention and treatment of dental diseases.
Works with a dentist as his assistant.
Conducts an initial examination of the maxillofacial area, diagnoses diseases and provides first aid in emergency conditions (in the absence of a dentist).
Determines the condition of the oral cavity and the need for special research methods (laboratory, radiological, cytological, etc.).
Analyzes radiographs of teeth and jaws.
Provides pain relief, prepares materials for canal filling, and applies therapeutic dressings.
Carries out application and fusion of soft and hard tissues of the oral cavity.
Carries out orthopedic treatment of hard tissues of the tooth and periodontal diseases.
Selects tray impressions and prepares impression material for impression taking, casts models, adjusts removable dentures and orthodontic appliances.
Conducts primary individual and mass prevention of dental diseases.
Prescribes and stores pharmacological drugs, prepares mixtures, pastes, etc. for dental treatment.
Provides postoperative care for patients with damage to the maxillofacial area.
Adheres to the principles of medical deontology.
Actively participates in the dissemination of medical knowledge among the population on the prevention of dental diseases.
Maintains medical records.
Constantly improves his professional level.

III. Rights

The dental assistant has the right to:

Get acquainted with the draft decisions of the management of the enterprise regarding its activities.
Participate in the discussion of issues related to the performance of his duties.
Make suggestions for improving the work related to the provisions of this instruction.
Within the limits of his competence, inform his immediate supervisor about all those identified in the course of his activities, and make proposals for their elimination.
Require the management of the enterprise to assist in the performance of their duties.
