In order not to become a victim of hooligans, robbers and maniacs, you must follow the following rules:

1) do not be on the street alone, as well as together in the dark. If you need to return by a dark road, call home before leaving. Use knowledge of the rhythms of life in your neighborhood;

2) walk with a calm, confident look. Victimology (the science of victim behavior) explains how the offender is guided during the choice of the victim. The offender notes everything that plays into his hands: the uncertainty of the look, sluggish posture, timidity of movements, mental depression, fatigue, physical disabilities. Try not to draw attention to yourself with expensive jewelry;

3) choose a route that is not short, but safe, without tempting yourself with the desire to slip through passage yards or entrances;

4) avoid places where you are most likely to meet a dangerous person. This applies to unlit streets and doorways, entrances and secluded corners in parks and squares. If you cannot avoid such places, you should try not to find yourself in them alone or as a couple, but rather three or more (group);

5) do not deprive yourself of information about what is happening around. So that the danger does not creep up unexpectedly, do not stun yourself with the player's headphones and, all the more defiantly, with a tape recorder;

6) it is safer to walk along the edge of the sidewalk towards traffic, this allows you to avoid a sudden attack from entrances or doorways and at the same time see the approaching cars. If the car starts to move slowly nearby, it is wiser to cross to the other side of the street;

7) never and under no circumstances enter other people's houses and apartments, even if you are convincingly asked to do so;

8) approaching the entrance, be as focused and careful as possible, especially at night. Always carry a flashlight and whistle with you. When you open the entrance door, make sure that there is no one in it. If you see a company at the entrance, leave the entrance and call from the nearest pay phone and ask to be met. If there is no one to meet, it is better to wait for a person who is on the way with you;

9) while waiting for the elevator, stand not in front of the door, but to the side - with your back to the wall. Enter the elevator only when you make sure that there are no strangers in the cabin. If you find yourself in an elevator with a stranger, do not turn your back on him, but watch his actions. Get ready to defend.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

Honda is phasing out diesel cars 27.09.2019

Japanese automaker Honda has announced that it is going to completely stop selling diesel versions of its cars in Europe as early as 2021. The announcement comes just months after the company announced plans to switch the European market to exclusively hybrid and electric models by 2025.

Initially, Honda planned to increase the share of electric vehicles and hybrids in the structure of its European sales to 66% by 2025. However, the EU's negative attitude towards dieselgate has markedly reduced the popularity of "dirty" cars and increased the popularity of greener cars accordingly. Also, the situation was influenced by new, more stringent emission standards, which force manufacturers to underestimate the power and dynamics of internal combustion engines in order to meet the standards.

Apparently, with the help of the statement about the imminent end of diesel engines, Honda decided to abstract from the automakers involved in the "dieselgate". The company already has a serial Honda e electric car, the sale of which will start in the summer of 2020, and it will also not be too big a problem to offer hybrid versions in the European market, so there is no need to talk about significant losses for the automaker.

In recent years, almost all major automakers have announced plans to gradually abandon the development and production of internal combustion engines. Daimler (Mercedes-Benz) did this recently, Volkswagen did it at the end of last year, Volvo did it even earlier, and so on.

In turn, similar statements are made by cities and entire countries, including India, Denmark, Sweden, Israel, the Netherlands, China, Germany, Great Britain, France, Norway, etc.
