Tobacco smoking referred to as bad habits, which are deviations from a healthy lifestyle. The problem of smoking in Russia has now taken on the character of a national disaster and threatens the future of society as a whole. Now boys and girls start smoking at the age of 13, 15, 17, and by the childbearing age, almost 90% of boys and 40% of girls use tobacco. In a novice smoker, the reserves of psychic energy are depleted within 2-3 years, therefore healthy children cannot be born in smoking boys and girls who marry (especially in conditions of a generally unfavorable environmental situation).

Even Adolf Hitler in his book "Mein Kampf", defining the role of working cattle in the system of the "thousand-year Reich" for the Eastern peoples (including Russians), wrote as follows: "For them (the Eastern peoples) only vodka and tobacco should remain and no medical help". Hitler was well aware that people drugged with vodka and tobacco are easier to manage - to keep in obedience.

Smoking leads to nicotine addiction - the dependence of the respiratory center of the brain on the substances that stimulate its work, contained in tobacco smoke, which turns into a destabilizing factor for the whole organism as a whole.

The following facts speak about the real consequences of smoking:

1) nicotine is a mind-altering drug that affects the same areas of the brain as cocaine and amphetamines;

2) the uniqueness of nicotine lies in the fact that, being a psychostimulant, it relaxes large muscle groups;

3) one of the breakdown products of nicotine is the strongest antidepressant; for some people, smoking is a way to cope with depression, although they are not aware of it;

4) in industry, nicotine is used as a pesticide; if you eat a pack of cigarettes, then death will occur from poisoning - in the process of burning tobacco, toxicity decreases somewhat, but nicotine kills as reliably as hydrocyanic acid, only much more slowly;

5) nicotine is the most addictive drug in terms of its ability to cause addiction, cocaine is in second place. A few hours of smoking is enough to form the mechanism of chemical dependence;

6) its characteristic feature is the need to constantly maintain the level of nicotine in the blood in order to avoid the occurrence of a withdrawal syndrome;

7) the mechanism of dependence on smoking is as follows: nicotinic acid and other components included in the normal metabolism of the human body cease to be produced, and those obtained from the outside are built into the life cycles. Over the years, a person needs increasing dosages of these substances, but he receives them with an ever-increasing amount of carcinogenic substances in the form of combustion products of tars;

8) 90% of smokers want to quit smoking, but 75% fail;

9) smoking not only shortens life, but also reduces its quality - smoking is one of the main causes of impotence.

A New Way to Control and Manipulate Optical Signals 05.05.2024

The modern world of science and technology is developing rapidly, and every day new methods and technologies appear that open up new prospects for us in various fields. One such innovation is the development by German scientists of a new way to control optical signals, which could lead to significant progress in the field of photonics. Recent research has allowed German scientists to create a tunable waveplate inside a fused silica waveguide. This method, based on the use of a liquid crystal layer, allows one to effectively change the polarization of light passing through a waveguide. This technological breakthrough opens up new prospects for the development of compact and efficient photonic devices capable of processing large volumes of data. The electro-optical control of polarization provided by the new method could provide the basis for a new class of integrated photonic devices. This opens up great opportunities for ... >>

Primium Seneca keyboard 05.05.2024

Keyboards are an integral part of our daily computer work. However, one of the main problems that users face is noise, especially in the case of premium models. But with the new Seneca keyboard from Norbauer & Co, that may change. Seneca is not just a keyboard, it is the result of five years of development work to create the ideal device. Every aspect of this keyboard, from acoustic properties to mechanical characteristics, has been carefully considered and balanced. One of the key features of Seneca is its silent stabilizers, which solve the noise problem common to many keyboards. In addition, the keyboard supports various key widths, making it convenient for any user. Although Seneca is not yet available for purchase, it is scheduled for release in late summer. The world's tallest astronomical observatory opened 04.05.2024

Exploring space and its mysteries is a task that attracts the attention of astronomers from all over the world. In the fresh air of the high mountains, far from city light pollution, the stars and planets reveal their secrets with greater clarity. A new page is opening in the history of astronomy with the opening of the world's highest astronomical observatory - the Atacama Observatory of the University of Tokyo. The Atacama Observatory, located at an altitude of 5640 meters above sea level, opens up new opportunities for astronomers in the study of space. This site has become the highest location for a ground-based telescope, providing researchers with a unique tool for studying infrared waves in the Universe. Although the high altitude location provides clearer skies and less interference from the atmosphere, building an observatory on a high mountain poses enormous difficulties and challenges. However, despite the difficulties, the new observatory opens up broad research prospects for astronomers. ... >>
