PANASONIC GD35

The phone is available in three colors - blue, white and black. In all three cases, the navigation key differs in color from the body and immediately catches the eye (it is orange in the blue phone). The keyboard is made of soft rubber; small keys are located close to each other, but, nevertheless, it is convenient to dial a number with one hand.

The design of the Panasonic GD35 is simple and uncomplicated - that's what, in my opinion, an entry-level phone should look like. Its dimensions are 120,5 x 45,5 x 20 mm, weight - 109 grams. On the back surface there is a hole for a strap, by purchasing which you can carry the device on your hand. The back cover that covers the battery is fastened in the grooves and easily snaps out if you pull it towards you. The location of the SIM holder is not quite usual. The SIM-card is securely fixed in the holder, and the battery is latched with a special lock that has the "open" and "closed" positions. A slight backlash of the battery does not affect its performance in any way. According to the manufacturer, the phone can operate up to 180 hours in standby mode and up to 6 hours in talk mode (and this is with a standard 700 mAh nickel-metal hydride battery!). In reality, the operating time of the device is much lower - 2.5-3 days with a small number of calls with a total duration of 20-25 minutes. The time to fully charge the battery is about 2 hours.

The GD35's display is relatively large, showing 4 lines of text, 2 lines of mnemonics, 5 lines of text in WAP mode. Backlighting of the screen and keys is green. It allows you to work in the evening, but you can’t call it very bright.

The phone's menu is organized simply - one list, no icons for items and sub-items, only the name and number. As you may have guessed, there is a quick menu navigation using number sequences. The navigation key is used to move through the menu; only vertical scrolling of lists is possible; to select an item, press the right soft key labeled Menu. The transition to the upper level of the menu is carried out by pressing the C key.

In standby mode on the phone screen you will see indicators of signal strength (4 divisions) and battery level (3 divisions, although it is made solid), as well as labels for soft keys that open access to the phone book and menu. The display can display one of two graphic screen savers, and these pictures are shown not only in standby mode, but also when certain actions are performed. So, when sending an SMS message, a dog pops up on the screen with a letter in its mouth, then a hand appears and takes this letter. Everything is very nice and pleasant.

Instead of a splash screen, you can set the display of the date and time. If you remove the battery, the date and time settings are reset to zero, which is inconvenient. The phone has an alarm clock that can be set to sound once or every day. The alarm clock works not only when the phone is on. It is also worth noting the ability to configure the phone to turn on or off at a specific time.

The work with SMS-messages is very well organized: both receiving and sending messages in Russian are possible, although the phone does not support Cyrillic. The situation is saved by the presence of 10 preset templates. But, what is most interesting, these 10 templates are written in different languages. At any time, in the Messages menu, you can select the desired language - and voila: the same text, but in a different language. An extremely handy and useful feature. There is predictive text input T9 (dictionary for English only). Switching between font layouts is carried out using the key to access the wap-browser.

Unfortunately, it cannot be said that setting up broadcast messages is just as convenient and easy - you will have to read the instructions.

The phonebook is only stored in the SIM card memory. The handset has 20 tones and melodies of a call, there are some very good ones. The maximum ring volume is more than enough to hear the phone from under a sweater or from a jacket pocket. Melodies sound very nice, in general, all the latest models in this parameter differ for the better from their predecessors. For incoming SMS messages, you can also set any of the available melodies.

The GD35 provides lists of the last 10 received, missed and rejected calls with the time and date of the call. When manually rejecting a call, the number is still included in the list of missed calls.

It remains to say that the phone has a quite ordinary calculator, as well as one game, logical and not very interesting, in my opinion.

Impressions and conclusion

Indeed, Panasonic GD35 is an entry-level phone, which is proved by its set of functions, including, among other things, a wap-browser and the ability to assign personal melodies to subscribers from a notebook. The sound quality during a conversation is not bad, sometimes, however, small noises are heard in the dynamics, but you quickly get used to them. In terms of such a parameter as sensitivity, this device outperforms its competitor LG200. The vibrating alert is average, but you can feel it.

The phone's software has been worked out in the most thorough way, however, several times I encountered the problem of the device spontaneously rebooting when working with the menu or choosing a font type in the phone book, and it was not possible to repeat these situations artificially.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

Ultrathin superwire 01.10.2011

It is possible that hot superconductivity can be achieved in an ultrathin film. Since the day Georg Bednorz and Karl Müller (Nobel Prize 1987) discovered the high-temperature superconductivity of yttrium cuprate and realized that it was due to the defectiveness of its structure - the lack of oxygen atoms compared to stoichiometry, materials scientists have tried many times to take the next step and get a hot superconductivity (at room temperature). But they didn't succeed.

A fundamentally new direction of research was proposed by Yaak Chakhalyan, a professor at the University of Arkansas. He believes that elastic stresses that arise in a thin film during its growth can help. As long as the film is thin, its atoms must adjust to the crystal lattice of the substrate. As the film thickness increases, the stress power increases, and they first generate lattice defects, and then the film begins to warp and peel off from the substrate, which hardly improves the conductive properties.

Therefore, no one was seriously looking for superconductivity in such a strained film. But Chakhalyan and his colleagues managed to grow a film of superconducting ceramics in such a way that it turned out to be monatomic, defect-free and even seemingly undeformed.

Studies at the synchrotron have shown that stresses can be extinguished not by changing the lengths of interatomic bonds, but by rotating them. This rotation can also affect the properties of superconducting pairs of electrons, giving them additional stability at high temperatures.
