The abbreviation in the title is clear: GK - lawn mower; the unit denotes the width of the capture - one meter. So, without any special claims, young technicians from the city of Mikhailovna, Volgograd Region, named their car with an electric drive. "Our mower," the guys write, "last year won first place at the regional competition "Young Innovators for the Village", and third at the All-Russian Meeting of Student Brigades in Voronezh."

Indeed, the unit is simple in design and maintenance, maneuverable and, which is also important, made of decommissioned parts and assemblies of old combines. The guys say this about the performance of the mower: "You can mow grass from an area of 2,5 hectares in a day."

The head of young technicians from the Mikhailovsky training and production plant, Vladimir Ivanovich Popov, introduces the design of the GK-1 lawn mower.

In appearance, it resembles a small cart with wheels from a moped, rigidly connected by a piece of an inch pipe. Management - a long handle-carrier, as young designers call it. At the lower end of the carrier, near the ground itself, there is a frame made of sheet steel, which is somewhat forward, with nodes and mechanisms fixed on it that are directly involved in mowing: this is an engine, a cutting device, a transmission.

The engine on the GK-1 is electric with a power of 500 W from the Don pump. It can be moved in the grooves of the frame, which allows you to adjust the tension of the drive belt. The electric starting part is also taken from the pump. She is placed on the carrier. (Remember: the mower handles must be insulated for safety reasons, for example, they can be put on pieces of rubber hose; in addition, you must run the ground wire!).

For the manufacture of the cutting unit, we used segments of knives and parts of the backs, as well as sections of fingers from harvesters that have served their time. So, we made the skin of a silo combine from the back of the bearing finger beam, welding the same back at an angle of 90 ° from its back side for rigidity. Seven sections of fingers were used from the header of the grain combine: they were fixed with M12 bolts on the carrier bar as fixed teeth. Parts for the movable - cutting part were taken from her. 13 segments of the knife went into this: they were enough to make the grip about a meter. Only the presser feet are designed and manufactured by ourselves.

The kinematics of the mower is simple: the transmission from the pulley drive shaft to the driven one is V-belt; both pulleys are cantilevered on the shafts. An eccentric is placed on the outer surface of the driven shaft, which communicates movement to the movable skin with the help of a connecting rod - the rotation of the motor shaft is thus converted into a reciprocating movement of the knife, which mows the ladder; its working stroke is 76 mm.

At the edge of the cutting unit, a support wheel is placed, which facilitates the control of the mower. It also helps to keep the mowing height constant.

Machine for thinning flowers in gardens 02.05.2024

In modern agriculture, technological progress is developing aimed at increasing the efficiency of plant care processes. The innovative Florix flower thinning machine was presented in Italy, designed to optimize the harvesting stage. This tool is equipped with mobile arms, allowing it to be easily adapted to the needs of the garden. The operator can adjust the speed of the thin wires by controlling them from the tractor cab using a joystick. This approach significantly increases the efficiency of the flower thinning process, providing the possibility of individual adjustment to the specific conditions of the garden, as well as the variety and type of fruit grown in it. After testing the Florix machine for two years on various types of fruit, the results were very encouraging. Farmers such as Filiberto Montanari, who has used a Florix machine for several years, have reported a significant reduction in the time and labor required to thin flowers. ... >>

Advanced Infrared Microscope 02.05.2024

Microscopes play an important role in scientific research, allowing scientists to delve into structures and processes invisible to the eye. However, various microscopy methods have their limitations, and among them was the limitation of resolution when using the infrared range. But the latest achievements of Japanese researchers from the University of Tokyo open up new prospects for studying the microworld. Scientists from the University of Tokyo have unveiled a new microscope that will revolutionize the capabilities of infrared microscopy. This advanced instrument allows you to see the internal structures of living bacteria with amazing clarity on the nanometer scale. Typically, mid-infrared microscopes are limited by low resolution, but the latest development from Japanese researchers overcomes these limitations. According to scientists, the developed microscope allows creating images with a resolution of up to 120 nanometers, which is 30 times higher than the resolution of traditional microscopes. ... >>

Air trap for insects 01.05.2024

Agriculture is one of the key sectors of the economy, and pest control is an integral part of this process. A team of scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Central Potato Research Institute (ICAR-CPRI), Shimla, has come up with an innovative solution to this problem - a wind-powered insect air trap. This device addresses the shortcomings of traditional pest control methods by providing real-time insect population data. The trap is powered entirely by wind energy, making it an environmentally friendly solution that requires no power. Its unique design allows monitoring of both harmful and beneficial insects, providing a complete overview of the population in any agricultural area. “By assessing target pests at the right time, we can take necessary measures to control both pests and diseases,” says Kapil ... >>

VW ID.AERO electric sedan concept 01.07.2022

The German automaker Volkswagen Group has officially unveiled the sixth electric concept from the ID brand line - the VW ID.AERO sedan (previous models: ID.3, ID.4, ID.5, ID.6 and ID. Buzz).

The brand positions the novelty as a flagship mid-size sedan (premium mid-size sedan) in a progressive stylish aerodynamic design, designed for a younger audience. This five-meter sedan doesn't just look aerodynamic - the coupe-style sloping roofline has reduced the drag coefficient to 0,23.

The VW ID.AERO electric vehicle is built on the MEB platform and is equipped with a 77 kWh battery that provides a range of 620 km (385 miles) on the WLTP cycle. Serial production and sales of the model will start in the second half of 2023 in China and Europe, while the novelty will become a global model, that is, it will be sold in Europe, the USA and China.
