BUILDER, HOUSEHOLDER
Travel refrigerator. Tips for the home master Directory / Builder, home master Going out of town in the summer to the bosom of nature, we grab something to eat and a thermos of hot tea with us. It would be possible to take something more substantial, but how to keep everything without a refrigerator? Why don't we make it? Yes, so that even ice cream does not melt in it on the hottest day. Having used factory papier-mâché egg trays (plastic ones are not suitable), newspapers, magazines, wrapping paper, wallpaper paste and foam rubber strips, it is quite possible to make a thermal container with a useful volume of 3 liters in 4-17 evenings. In shape, it is a cube with an outer face of 360 and an inner face of 260 mm. Pre-chilled food in our mini fridge will stay at the same temperature for up to 20 hours. Of course, it should be remembered that the fuller the container is filled, the longer it retains the cold. And if there is not much to eat (for example, ice cream), pre-cool the container with an ice pack and place plastic bottles with frozen water in it. Before freezing, add table salt to the water. 120 g (4 tablespoons without top) per 1 liter of water will provide a temperature of 8,6 degrees C, and 6 spoons - 12 ... 13 degrees C. But enough abstract talk. Let's get down to business. Paste 4 pallets on both sides with paper so that it protrudes 50 - 100 mm beyond the edges.
In this case, it is necessary to apply glue not only on paper, but also on the tops of the "pyramids" of the pallet. Before drying, lay plywood on the surface and press down with a weight. Fold the pallets into a square and glue the protruding inner sheets of paper with an overlap, cutting them at the corners. When everything is dry, fold a square pipe from pallets, picking them up so that the extreme "pyramids" enter into the recesses of the neighboring ones. On the side of the lid between the paper and the tray, carefully glue the pieces of foam rubber and foam plastic so as to seal the cavities. Lay the top of the container with dense rolls of newspaper and glue the sheets with an overlap. It is especially important to glue the voids, as well as the joints, so that there are no gaps. Paper rollers can be glued along the edges of the container. Glue or sew a strip of foam rubber or cloth 50 - 60 mm wide along the edge from the inside of the container or sew it with threads to the body. Fill the voids between the foam rubber and the body with any porous material, previously lubricated with glue. On a strip of cardboard 150 mm wide, glue or sew a tape of foam rubber or cloth of the same width as on the body and put it in a container. After smearing the joints of cardboard and foam rubber with overlapping glue, press them to the body using spacers and strips of plywood. Sew the cloth strip end-to-end without a gap. When the glue dries, remove the spacers and, with a little effort, insert the cardboard frame into the pallet, trimming its edges if necessary. Glue the rollers from the newspaper and paste over the outside and inside with paper, tucking the edges of the frame onto the lid. Wait for the glue to dry and push the cover out of the case, after marking its position. Sew it in the corners with a large needle with a thick thread or a regular one folded several times and make a loop on the outside. They will be needed to remove the cover. Glue squares of thick cardboard under the thread so that it does not cut the cardboard when opening. Glue the edges of the foam at the cover on one side inward, and at the body - outward for ease of installation. Place the pallet on the bottom of the container and overlap with paper, gluing the cracks. Glue the paper rollers into the voids and overlap with the outer sheets of paper. Outside, it would be nice to paste over the container with sheets of thick paper, for example, from magazines. By choosing the appropriate illustrations, you can achieve a kind of artistic design. On the body and cover, do not forget to make marks so as not to look for their relative positions every time. Lay plywood on the bottom of the container, say, from a parcel box. Through the bottom, pass and glue a twill or tape for handles sewn from a dense fabric. The refrigerator is ready. You can go hiking.
