For a Christmas tree, I propose a tripod stand, which will successfully serve not only on New Year's holidays, but almost all year round, in a variety of life situations - to secure racks, poles, etc., so as not to dig them into the ground.

For home craftsmen - lovers of working with metal, I present a drawing of this stand, from which its design and even manufacturing technology are quite clear.

For the legs I used a thin-walled steel pipe with an outer diameter of 12 mm, from old beds, and for the body and lining - pieces of thick-walled water pipes with a diameter of 45 mm and a wall thickness of 2,5 mm. To make the lining, I cut out a longitudinal third part from the same tubular blank and bent it to an outer radius of 20 mm.

Tripod stand for Christmas tree
Three-leg stand for a Christmas tree: 1 - thrust bearing (3 pcs.); 2 - leg (pipe Ø 12x1, 3 pcs.); 3 - body (pipe Ø 45x2,5); 4 - clamp (M10 bolt); 5 - nut M10; 6 - lining (pipe Ø 40)

As a clamp for the lining, I used an M10 bolt with the same nut. I welded the nut to the body, having previously drilled a hole with a diameter of 10,5 mm in it. The lining is not welded to the clamp - the legs converging inside the body will not allow it to fail. I used furniture (wide) washers as thrust bearings for the legs.

I drilled small holes (6 mm in diameter) near the outer edges in the thrust washers - if necessary, through them, the stand can be additionally attached with screws to a wooden base (floor) or with wire pins to the ground.

Machine for thinning flowers in gardens 02.05.2024

In modern agriculture, technological progress is developing aimed at increasing the efficiency of plant care processes. The innovative Florix flower thinning machine was presented in Italy, designed to optimize the harvesting stage. This tool is equipped with mobile arms, allowing it to be easily adapted to the needs of the garden. The operator can adjust the speed of the thin wires by controlling them from the tractor cab using a joystick. This approach significantly increases the efficiency of the flower thinning process, providing the possibility of individual adjustment to the specific conditions of the garden, as well as the variety and type of fruit grown in it. After testing the Florix machine for two years on various types of fruit, the results were very encouraging. Farmers such as Filiberto Montanari, who has used a Florix machine for several years, have reported a significant reduction in the time and labor required to thin flowers. ... >>

Advanced Infrared Microscope 02.05.2024

Microscopes play an important role in scientific research, allowing scientists to delve into structures and processes invisible to the eye. However, various microscopy methods have their limitations, and among them was the limitation of resolution when using the infrared range. But the latest achievements of Japanese researchers from the University of Tokyo open up new prospects for studying the microworld. Scientists from the University of Tokyo have unveiled a new microscope that will revolutionize the capabilities of infrared microscopy. This advanced instrument allows you to see the internal structures of living bacteria with amazing clarity on the nanometer scale. Typically, mid-infrared microscopes are limited by low resolution, but the latest development from Japanese researchers overcomes these limitations. According to scientists, the developed microscope allows creating images with a resolution of up to 120 nanometers, which is 30 times higher than the resolution of traditional microscopes. ... >>

Air trap for insects 01.05.2024

Agriculture is one of the key sectors of the economy, and pest control is an integral part of this process. A team of scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Central Potato Research Institute (ICAR-CPRI), Shimla, has come up with an innovative solution to this problem - a wind-powered insect air trap. This device addresses the shortcomings of traditional pest control methods by providing real-time insect population data. The trap is powered entirely by wind energy, making it an environmentally friendly solution that requires no power. Its unique design allows monitoring of both harmful and beneficial insects, providing a complete overview of the population in any agricultural area. “By assessing target pests at the right time, we can take necessary measures to control both pests and diseases,” says Kapil ... >>

Processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 16.09.2014

Qualcomm at the Uplinq conference in San Francisco (California, USA) showed in action a sample of the powerful Snapdragon 810 processor designed for mobile devices.

The Snapdragon 810 chip was officially introduced in early April, but there are no commercial devices based on it yet. Recall the characteristics of the product: four powerful 64-bit ARM Cortex-A57 cores and four energy-efficient Cortex-A53 cores, an Adreno 430 graphics accelerator with support for 4K resolutions and a Qualcomm Cat 6 LTE Advanced modem that provides data transfer speeds up to 300 Mbps.

The demonstration of the Snapdragon 810 showed the chip's ability to process high-quality graphics in real time. As an example, a three-dimensional model of a sports car was chosen, on which various materials and colors were superimposed in a computer-aided design program. The chip coped with the processing of reflections and textures when the model was rotated without any problems. By the way, rendering was carried out on a tablet running the Android operating system.

It is noted that Qualcomm has already received samples of the Snapdragon 810. Commercial devices on this platform can be expected in the first half of 2015.
