More and more city dwellers are spending the summer months in the countryside, purchasing garden plots or, as summer cottages, houses in the villages.

How to equip a garden house or a village hut? What furniture to choose? Many use for this purpose the environment that was previously in a city apartment. However, this solution is not the best: the dacha becomes like a warehouse of old sofas, cabinets and chairs. It is unlikely that in such a room you can have a good rest and completely relax, because every thing reminds of the bustle of the city.

Furniture made of natural wooden materials - bars, boards and slats - is most suitable for giving, rather than typical, pasted over with plastic. The entire interior should emphasize the unusual setting and close connection with the environment. Fans of tinkering, having even the smallest carpentry experience, can successfully make such furniture on their own. Moreover, it will have a number of advantages over the purchased one, since the designs are adjusted "to the size", and those made by one's own hands will be especially expensive.

We offer you several options for chairs, for the manufacture of which you will need the most common material in rural areas - boards 25x70 mm. It is better, of course, if they are hard or semi-hard wood (birch, larch), but soft ones (spruce, pine, linden) are also quite suitable. Boards must be well dried.

Chair-bed

The drawings show two options for a chair-bed: the first is for a short daytime rest, and the second is for a night's sleep. By the way, in the latter case, the mattress can be stuffed with well-dried hay. You will sleep on it - like in a hayloft! Just do not forget to periodically beat such a "featherbed".

For ease of movement, the chair is equipped with wheels.

simple armchair

This design is characterized by simplicity and conciseness of form. Manufacturing begins with the assembly of two side frames. The connection of the elements is carried out in a spike with lubrication with carpentry or epoxy glue. Parts of the seat frame are joined together with countersunk screws. The seat boards are laid on the internal overhead rails and are fixed from displacement with small nails or screws. A rather crucial moment is the fastening of the back to the frame. For reliability, it is better to use the method with insert cylindrical spikes on glue.

Simple chair: 1 - coupler (25x75x380 mm, 2 pcs.), 2 - leg (25x75x625 mm, 4 pcs.), 3 - back element (25x75x330 mm, 2 pcs.), 4 - backrest cross member (25x75x300 mm, 4 pcs. .), 5 - transverse screed (25x75x480 mm, 3 pcs.), 6 - seat cross member (25x75x400 mm, 6 pcs.), 7 - longitudinal frame element (25x70x450 mm, 2 pcs.), 8 - support bar (25x50x450 mm , 2 pcs.)

Finishing finished chairs is to cover them with polyester or nitrocellulose varnish. The strong and transparent surface film they create retains well and even more reveals the grain of the wood. The varnish is applied in three or four layers, with intermediate sanding. If varnishing is done by hand, you can use a swab or sponge, monitoring the uniformity of the coating and removing smudges in time. Using a sprayer will save time. Naturally, when working with him you need to have a respirator.

Rocking chair

In such an armchair it is very convenient to relax in bad weather near the fireplace. It is as if the wind itself is rocking the rocking chair outside the window, conducive to unhurried conversations and dreams.

This is also facilitated by the possibility of changing the angle of the backrest and the presence of soft pillows.

The assembly and finishing of the rocking chair is carried out by the most traditional methods. Pillows are made of sheet foam rubber in several layers, depending on the thickness. Covers - from thick, soft material.

Machine for thinning flowers in gardens 02.05.2024

In modern agriculture, technological progress is developing aimed at increasing the efficiency of plant care processes. The innovative Florix flower thinning machine was presented in Italy, designed to optimize the harvesting stage. This tool is equipped with mobile arms, allowing it to be easily adapted to the needs of the garden. The operator can adjust the speed of the thin wires by controlling them from the tractor cab using a joystick. This approach significantly increases the efficiency of the flower thinning process, providing the possibility of individual adjustment to the specific conditions of the garden, as well as the variety and type of fruit grown in it. After testing the Florix machine for two years on various types of fruit, the results were very encouraging. Farmers such as Filiberto Montanari, who has used a Florix machine for several years, have reported a significant reduction in the time and labor required to thin flowers. ... >>

Advanced Infrared Microscope 02.05.2024

Microscopes play an important role in scientific research, allowing scientists to delve into structures and processes invisible to the eye. However, various microscopy methods have their limitations, and among them was the limitation of resolution when using the infrared range. But the latest achievements of Japanese researchers from the University of Tokyo open up new prospects for studying the microworld. Scientists from the University of Tokyo have unveiled a new microscope that will revolutionize the capabilities of infrared microscopy. This advanced instrument allows you to see the internal structures of living bacteria with amazing clarity on the nanometer scale. Typically, mid-infrared microscopes are limited by low resolution, but the latest development from Japanese researchers overcomes these limitations. According to scientists, the developed microscope allows creating images with a resolution of up to 120 nanometers, which is 30 times higher than the resolution of traditional microscopes. ... >>

Air trap for insects 01.05.2024

Agriculture is one of the key sectors of the economy, and pest control is an integral part of this process. A team of scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Central Potato Research Institute (ICAR-CPRI), Shimla, has come up with an innovative solution to this problem - a wind-powered insect air trap. This device addresses the shortcomings of traditional pest control methods by providing real-time insect population data. The trap is powered entirely by wind energy, making it an environmentally friendly solution that requires no power. Its unique design allows monitoring of both harmful and beneficial insects, providing a complete overview of the population in any agricultural area. “By assessing target pests at the right time, we can take necessary measures to control both pests and diseases,” says Kapil ... >>
