What is the order of the planets in the solar system?

In order of distance from the Sun, the center of our solar system, the planets are arranged as follows: Mercury, Venus, Earth with a single satellite Moon, Mars with two satellites (Deimos and Phobos), Jupiter with sixteen satellites, Saturn with seventeen satellites, Uranus - with sixteen satellites, Neptune - with eight satellites, Pluto - with one satellite.

The farther a planet is from the Sun, the longer it takes to complete one orbit around it. Mercury quickly flies around the Sun, and the most distant planet Pluto makes one revolution around the Sun in 250 Earth years. A year on Pluto is 250 times longer than an Earth year. On the planets, due to their rotation around their axes, there is a change of day and night. The change of seasons occurs due to the fact that the planets revolve around the Sun, as if leaning on their side. Because of this, one part of the planet is better illuminated, then another.

In addition to the planets, a huge swarm of not so large cosmic bodies - asteroids - moves around the Sun. They are located mainly between Mars and Jupiter. There are also many comets circling the Sun.

A copy of which country with all cities and terrain exists in Minecraft?

In April 2014, the Danish government made a copy of their country in Minecraft. For this, geodata were used, which are already in the public domain for Danish citizens. The map recreates not only natural landscapes, but also cities with buildings - albeit with flat roofs and random colors of facades. The map is as close to reality as possible due to the fact that the highest point in Denmark is 171 meters above sea level, and the Minecraft engine allows you to build blocks up to a height of 192 meters. Shortly after launch, cases of vandalism were recorded - although dynamite was banned on this server, players discovered that it could still be blown up by putting it inside a mining car.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

Underwater photo will become clear 19.11.2004

Scientists from Israel have created software that will allow you to take very clear underwater photographs.

"Even in crystal clear water, it is impossible to take a clear photograph - it will always have a veil from scattered light," says Professor Iov Shekhner from the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology. "PhD student Nir Karpel and I found a way to remove this veil." Scientists used a conventional polarizing filter costing 20-100 dollars and software: a specially developed algorithm calculates those distortions in the image taken through this filter that led to the appearance of a veil.

Unlike common image enhancement programs that work with the image as a whole, the one created by Israeli scientists calculates the distance to the objects that are in the frame and makes its own adjustments for each of them. "Our program can be easily embedded into a microchip and built into a camera or video camera," says Prof. Schechner.
