What is a pineapple?

If you look at a pineapple, you might think that you see one fruit in front of you. In fact, a pineapple is a group of fruits, closely pressed to each other. Each of these small fruits resembles a small apple. In the middle of the pineapple is the stem to which all the individual fruits are attached. The whole pineapple resembles a large pine cone in appearance. The Spaniards discovered pineapples during their travels in South America and brought them to Europe.

For many years, Europeans diligently cultivated pineapples in private greenhouses, and this fruit was considered a great luxury. As shipping developed, it became possible to bring pineapples grown in the tropics and deliver them to markets in the countries of the North, and pineapples grown in greenhouses became a rarity.

Currently, pineapples grow in many places, including the West Indies, Florida, North Africa, Hawaii, the Azores and Australia. The pineapple tree reaches about one meter in height and bears fruit at any time of the year. When the plant reaches maturity, new shoots develop below to bring in a new crop. One plant can live and bear fruit for many years. Pineapple leaves contain fibers from which fabric is made.

Pineapples are rarely grown from seed; they are usually propagated using shoots that are planted in dry ground. Sandy soil is best. Sometimes canopies are arranged over plants to protect them from possible frosts or excessive heat.

What is Magna Carta?

Today, people are deeply interested in observing their rights, freedoms and laws that protect them from tyranny and persecution. "Magna Carta" was the first step towards constitutional freedoms for the entire population of the world, speaking the English language. It was signed by King John of England in 1225 and marked the beginning of a new form of government.

During the reign of King John, many were persecuted, the courts were bribed, there was no justice. The barons, who were under the authority of the king, decided that they should try to regain some of the lost rights and privileges. They were sure that these rights were more fair to themselves and their people.

On June 15, 1215, they and some of the churchmen raised an army and forced King John to sign the Magna Carta. Initially, the "Magna Carta" contained 63 articles, most of which affected the interests of only the rich. But some of them were remade, which benefited all people, because the rich promised some rights to the freedmen under their control.

The three articles of the Magna Carta are of great importance even today, because they influenced the development of freedom and justice, protected by law. One article states that no freedman shall be deprived of life or property without the consent of his lord (or equivalent) or law. Obviously, it protected oh injustice and arbitrariness.

Another article of the Magna Carta declared that justice could not be bought, denied, or postponed. This principle protected the people, was in the interests of the defendants, because it forbade judges from taking bribes or succumbing to someone else's influence while the suspect was in prison. The third article provided that federal taxes could not be increased without the consent of the Council of Peers. In our time, there is a similar situation: we cannot be taxed until the government receives the consent of the representatives of the people.

Latest news of science and technology, new electronics:

The existence of an entropy rule for quantum entanglement has been proven 09.05.2024

Quantum mechanics continues to amaze us with its mysterious phenomena and unexpected discoveries. Recently, Bartosz Regula from the RIKEN Center for Quantum Computing and Ludovico Lamy from the University of Amsterdam presented a new discovery that concerns quantum entanglement and its relation to entropy. Quantum entanglement plays an important role in modern quantum information science and technology. However, the complexity of its structure makes understanding and managing it challenging. Regulus and Lamy's discovery shows that quantum entanglement follows an entropy rule similar to that for classical systems. This discovery opens new perspectives in the field of quantum information science and technology, deepening our understanding of quantum entanglement and its connection to thermodynamics. The results of the study indicate the possibility of reversibility of entanglement transformations, which could greatly simplify their use in various quantum technologies. Opening a new rule ... >>

Energy from space for Starship 08.05.2024

Producing solar energy in space is becoming more feasible with the advent of new technologies and the development of space programs. The head of the startup Virtus Solis shared his vision of using SpaceX's Starship to create orbital power plants capable of powering the Earth. Startup Virtus Solis has unveiled an ambitious project to create orbital power plants using SpaceX's Starship. This idea could significantly change the field of solar energy production, making it more accessible and cheaper. The core of the startup's plan is to reduce the cost of launching satellites into space using Starship. This technological breakthrough is expected to make solar energy production in space more competitive with traditional energy sources. Virtual Solis plans to build large photovoltaic panels in orbit, using Starship to deliver the necessary equipment. However, one of the key challenges ... >>

Calculated the total amount of light emitted by the universe 29.11.2018

Our Universe - at least that part of it that we know - has been creating and transforming stars and other cosmic bodies for 13 billion years. And if earlier astronomers were very interested in the question of how many stars existed during this time, then at the moment they are more interested in the mystery of how much light these stars emitted. Using a new method to systematically count the light from blazars, a NASA team today came up with this figure, which in itself seems quite huge and one can only guess what it is in the context of a part of the universe that is not yet accessible to us.

Having made simulation calculations for the last 13 billion years, scientists got a figure of 4x10^84 - this means that after the number 4 there are 84 zeros, which is 4 septenvigintillion light rays. However, readers will probably have a question about how, in a fantastic way, scientists managed to get such a number? In fact, there is nothing particularly fantastic here - they simply used data from the super-powerful Fermi Gamma telescope over the past nine years and analyzed how gamma rays from blazars interact with the so-called "cosmic fog", at the output they found the total amount of light produced by stars.

This fog - known as extragalactic backlight - is made up of all the light produced by stars across the entire ultraviolet and infrared wavelength spectrum. When gamma rays pass through the fog, they collide with other light waves, they produce positrons and electrons.

By studying the signatures of these elements from gamma rays from more than 739 blazars, astronomers have been able to measure the fog's density at any viewable point, as well as at any time point in its progress and development - not without the help of computer simulations, of course. Thus, the new improved measuring method allows you to measure the most accurate and hidden indicator of the Universe, revealing its mysteries and secrets.
