What is completeness?

Today, everyone watches their weight. Many people follow a diet. Completeness is something no one wants for themselves. Although to a certain extent completeness is very necessary for the body. This is due to the fact that connective tissue cells accumulate fat.

First, small droplets appear inside the cells. They increase in size, gather together in a large drop, finally fill the cell and inflate it like a bubble. The cell turns into a large drop of fat, surrounded by a thin covering tissue. It only happens in certain places in the body. Ears, forehead, nose and joints usually do not have adipose tissue. Women generally store more fat than men.

A normal male body contains about 10% fat, a normal female body contains about 25%. This means that a young man can have about 6 kg of fat, and a woman about 16 kg. The main reason for the accumulation of fat in the body is the need to have a supply of nutrients. This is especially convenient since fat is the best and most concentrated food we know.

The usual daily food of the body is glucose, which is very well absorbed. The process of processing fat is more complex. But fat gives off more heat than the same amount of glucose. Indeed, fat releases 2 times more energy than glucose. Therefore, despite the complexity of processing, fat is most convenient as a reserve accumulated in the body. If we consume less nutrients than the body needs, then the consumption of fat reserves begins.

Fat is also necessary because it is a protective material. It acts like a water cushion. Due to its elasticity, fat is difficult to compress. This "water cushion" of fat is at the base of the buttocks, so we can sit comfortably, under the arches of the feet, under the skin of the palms, on the cheeks and in the pad for the eyeballs. The third use of fat in the body is as an insulating material that protects the body from heat loss.

What event led to the assassination of Gaius Julius Caesar by conspirators?

On the Ides of March (May 15), 44 BC, the Roman dictator Gaius Julius Caesar was assassinated by conspirators during a meeting of the Senate in Rome.

The reason for the assassination was Mark Antony's unsuccessful attempt to crown Caesar as king. This happened on February 15, 44. On that day, Caesar appeared at the feast in honor of the god Luperc (Faun) in the clothes of ancient Roman kings with a golden wreath, and Mark Antony offered him a royal diadem. Although Caesar rejected this proposal, the republican opposition took Antony's act as a signal to action.

Machine for thinning flowers in gardens 02.05.2024

In modern agriculture, technological progress is developing aimed at increasing the efficiency of plant care processes. The innovative Florix flower thinning machine was presented in Italy, designed to optimize the harvesting stage. This tool is equipped with mobile arms, allowing it to be easily adapted to the needs of the garden. The operator can adjust the speed of the thin wires by controlling them from the tractor cab using a joystick. This approach significantly increases the efficiency of the flower thinning process, providing the possibility of individual adjustment to the specific conditions of the garden, as well as the variety and type of fruit grown in it. After testing the Florix machine for two years on various types of fruit, the results were very encouraging. Farmers such as Filiberto Montanari, who has used a Florix machine for several years, have reported a significant reduction in the time and labor required to thin flowers. ... >>

Advanced Infrared Microscope 02.05.2024

Microscopes play an important role in scientific research, allowing scientists to delve into structures and processes invisible to the eye. However, various microscopy methods have their limitations, and among them was the limitation of resolution when using the infrared range. But the latest achievements of Japanese researchers from the University of Tokyo open up new prospects for studying the microworld. Scientists from the University of Tokyo have unveiled a new microscope that will revolutionize the capabilities of infrared microscopy. This advanced instrument allows you to see the internal structures of living bacteria with amazing clarity on the nanometer scale. Typically, mid-infrared microscopes are limited by low resolution, but the latest development from Japanese researchers overcomes these limitations. According to scientists, the developed microscope allows creating images with a resolution of up to 120 nanometers, which is 30 times higher than the resolution of traditional microscopes. ... >>

Air trap for insects 01.05.2024

Agriculture is one of the key sectors of the economy, and pest control is an integral part of this process. A team of scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Central Potato Research Institute (ICAR-CPRI), Shimla, has come up with an innovative solution to this problem - a wind-powered insect air trap. This device addresses the shortcomings of traditional pest control methods by providing real-time insect population data. The trap is powered entirely by wind energy, making it an environmentally friendly solution that requires no power. Its unique design allows monitoring of both harmful and beneficial insects, providing a complete overview of the population in any agricultural area. “By assessing target pests at the right time, we can take necessary measures to control both pests and diseases,” says Kapil ... >>

Only the old man Hottabych can survive in a copper jug 10.09.2005

Indians have long known that storing water in copper vessels prevents disease. A new study by microbiologists from the University of Northumbria (UK) and Punjab University (India) has confirmed the antimicrobial properties of copper jugs.

The scientists filled jars, found in every Indian home, with samples of sterile water laced with E. coli culture and samples of water from polluted rivers. In all the jars, the bacteria count dropped from a million per milliliter of water to zero in two days.

At the same time, the number of microbes in water in plastic or ceramic jugs remained the same. Apparently, trace amounts of copper, dissolved in water, kill microbes.
