How did the Grand Duke of Kyiv Vladimir Svyatoslavovich motivate his rejection of Judaism?

According to the testimony of the chronicler, when asked by Prince Vladimir about where their land was, the Jews who came to convert him to their faith answered: "In Jerusalem." Apparently, the prince knew the history of the Jewish people quite well, since he immediately asked: "Is it really there?" The Jewish preachers were forced to confess: "God was angry with our fathers and scattered us over the countries for our sins, and our land was delivered to the Christians."

Then Vladimir Svyatoslavovich indignantly declared: “How can you teach others, but you yourself are rejected from God and scattered. If God loved you and your law, you would not be scattered over foreign lands. Or do you want the same for us?”

Where did golden animals, birds and butterflies live?

The Inca state of Tahuantinsuyu arose in the XNUMXth century BC. The capital of the Incas was the city of Cusco. At the beginning of the XNUMXth century, there were more inhabitants in Cuzco than in London. When the Spaniards came to Cuzco, they saw the grandiose temples of the Sun, the Moon and other Indian deities. The amazing square, which was called the Golden Court, was decorated with life-size figures of animals (pumas, jaguars, fallow deer, deer, snakes) made of gold and silver. Golden birds sat on the branches of golden trees, butterflies on flowers.

The Spaniards melted all this splendor into coins, and destroyed palaces and temples. On their foundations they built their churches and palaces for the nobility. In 1950, after an earthquake, the church of St. Dominic, which stood on the site of the Golden Court, collapsed, and the restoration of this beautiful square began. The temple of Thunder, the temple of the Rainbow, the premises for sacrifices have already been restored.

Cusco is the most beautiful city in Peru, which has preserved many palaces and churches of the XNUMXth-XNUMXth centuries, typically Spanish houses with arcades on the first floor and wooden balconies on the second.

Cusco is located in a valley between the mountains, at an altitude of almost 3,5 thousand meters. The air in the city is rarefied, and therefore it is difficult to breathe here. The slopes of the mountains around the city are cut by ledges, a kind of terraces that the Incas created. And now the Quechua Indians grow potatoes, wheat, maize, barley, fruits on them.

Machine for thinning flowers in gardens 02.05.2024

In modern agriculture, technological progress is developing aimed at increasing the efficiency of plant care processes. The innovative Florix flower thinning machine was presented in Italy, designed to optimize the harvesting stage. This tool is equipped with mobile arms, allowing it to be easily adapted to the needs of the garden. The operator can adjust the speed of the thin wires by controlling them from the tractor cab using a joystick. This approach significantly increases the efficiency of the flower thinning process, providing the possibility of individual adjustment to the specific conditions of the garden, as well as the variety and type of fruit grown in it. After testing the Florix machine for two years on various types of fruit, the results were very encouraging. Farmers such as Filiberto Montanari, who has used a Florix machine for several years, have reported a significant reduction in the time and labor required to thin flowers. ... >>

Advanced Infrared Microscope 02.05.2024

Microscopes play an important role in scientific research, allowing scientists to delve into structures and processes invisible to the eye. However, various microscopy methods have their limitations, and among them was the limitation of resolution when using the infrared range. But the latest achievements of Japanese researchers from the University of Tokyo open up new prospects for studying the microworld. Scientists from the University of Tokyo have unveiled a new microscope that will revolutionize the capabilities of infrared microscopy. This advanced instrument allows you to see the internal structures of living bacteria with amazing clarity on the nanometer scale. Typically, mid-infrared microscopes are limited by low resolution, but the latest development from Japanese researchers overcomes these limitations. According to scientists, the developed microscope allows creating images with a resolution of up to 120 nanometers, which is 30 times higher than the resolution of traditional microscopes. ... >>

Air trap for insects 01.05.2024

Agriculture is one of the key sectors of the economy, and pest control is an integral part of this process. A team of scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Central Potato Research Institute (ICAR-CPRI), Shimla, has come up with an innovative solution to this problem - a wind-powered insect air trap. This device addresses the shortcomings of traditional pest control methods by providing real-time insect population data. The trap is powered entirely by wind energy, making it an environmentally friendly solution that requires no power. Its unique design allows monitoring of both harmful and beneficial insects, providing a complete overview of the population in any agricultural area. “By assessing target pests at the right time, we can take necessary measures to control both pests and diseases,” says Kapil ... >>

Schoolchildren who skip breakfast perform worse 14.10.2023

Pupils who skip breakfast on school days get lower grades than those who eat regularly before school starts, according to a new study in Yorkshire, UK.

Dr Katie Adolph, from the School of Psychology at the University of Leeds, lead author of the study, said:

"Our work shows that high school students are at a disadvantage if they skip their morning meal, not providing the brain with the resources it needs to start the school day."

A survey of 294 pupils from schools and colleges in West Yorkshire found that 29% rarely or never ate breakfast on school days, 18% ate breakfast sometimes and 53% did so regularly.

When analyzing academic performance, the researchers found that students who ate breakfast infrequently scored 1,20 points lower on average than those who ate before school, controlling for other factors.

This study provides valuable data highlighting the importance of breakfast in improving student achievement and overcoming barriers to education. Because education plays a key role in a child's future success and lift out of poverty, ensuring every child has a healthy start to the day should be a priority for parents.
