Sound in the car-2 The editors of the magazine "Radio" sent me a letter from one of the readers, similar questions were repeatedly asked by E-mail. I will try to answer them. Since the design was created mainly for the experimental verification of some assumptions (first of all, the scope of bi-amplification in a car and the choice of optimal crossover frequencies), the installation of the amplifier was simplified to the limit. Despite this, a year of daily operation confirmed the reliability of the design. Assumptions were justified too. The described version of the system is minimal. The tape recorder can no longer be seriously considered as a high-quality signal source. Ahead is the creation of filters and amplifiers with more advanced circuitry, the installation of a CD changer, a subwoofer, the completion of interior soundproofing and new experiments with sound. Printed circuit board
Board material - foil fiberglass 1,5 mm thick. The jumpers are made with an insulated rigid mounting wire with a diameter of 0,8 mm. The outputs of the amplifier and power are brought to the connectors with a wire with a cross section of 2,0 sq. mm. The radiator (duralumin corner 50x50) is installed directly on the board. When repeating the design, it is advisable to perform UMZCH and filters on the same board. What can replace BA1 and BA6 other than W-05? W-05 - diffuser piezo emitter. By design, it resembles a speaker with a polypropylene cone, but instead of a magnetic system and a voice coil, a disk piezoelectric element is used. You can replace it with another piezo emitter of a similar design. This emitter was selected from those available at Promelectronica. It is impossible to replace it with a diffuserless radiator - as a rule, they have a pronounced mechanical resonance in the mid-frequency region, and outside the resonance zone, the return is significantly reduced. Such emitters are intended for alarm systems, and are unsuitable for reproducing a musical signal (although they are installed in many cheap coaxial heads). In principle, instead of a piezo emitter, you can use special small-sized high-frequency loudspeakers, but their price is incomparable with the price of piezo emitters (about $0.5). The characteristics of the W-05 are excellent, and there is only one drawback - low sensitivity. For normal operation, a voltage of about 20 volts must be supplied to them, so the easiest way out in this situation is to use a step-up transformer. Replacing the tdA1554Q chip with a more powerful tdA8561Q (tdA8564Q)
Such a replacement is quite possible (with a corresponding revision of the printed circuit board), but the author has not carried out. It is also possible to use ready-made UMZCH from the Kaskad company based on TA8221 microcircuits or similar designs. When using a modern radio with a four-channel bridge amplifier, crossover filters can be built into the radio at the input of the power amplifier - in this case, the manufacture of a separate UMZCH is not required.
