In all you, darling, outfits are good!

Pushkin A.S.
Pushkin A.S.

Phraseologism: In all you, darling, outfits are good!

Meaning: A compliment in response to women's requests to evaluate a new dress, hairstyle, etc.

Origin: From the poem (2) "Darling" (1778) by Ippolit Fedorovich Bogdanovich (1743-1803): "You, Darling, are good in all your outfits! // In the image of which queen are you dressed, // Are you sitting like a shepherdess at the hut - / / In all you are a wonder of the world." This line is better known thanks to A. S. Pushkin, who used it as an epigraph to his story "The Young Lady-Peasant Woman" from the cycle "Belkin's Tales".

Random phraseology:

Frankenstein.

Meaning:

About a man who brought to life forces that he could not cope with, which turned against him, from which he himself suffered.

Origin:

The protagonist of the story "Frankenstein, or Modern Prometheus" (1818) by the English writer Mary Shelley (1797-1851). Victor Frankenstein is the name of a young Swiss scientist who, wishing to artificially create a living person in the laboratory, gave birth to a humanoid monster, which horrified its creator. And he was the first to suffer from his offspring - it killed the scientist's younger brother, and then his fiancee and only friend. Usually used incorrectly when referring to a monster, an artificially created creature that looks like a person, Frankenstein. But in Shelley's story, he did not have a personal name, and his creator himself - Victor Frankenstein - called him a "monster", "demon", "giant".

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

This deformation is precisely reproduced in the second tissue that comes into contact with the baby's skin, allowing him to feel physical closeness, even at a distance.

Electrodes on both sides of the film react to deformation by changing its electrical capacitance. Intelligent algorithms predict and programmatically control the sequence of movements, controlling the deformation of the elastomeric film and emulating the parent's touch.

Artificial skin technology for virtual hugs opens new horizons in the field of virtual communication and intimacy. This development could be a valuable tool for those who are away from their loved ones, especially children quarantined in hospitals. Emulating touch from parents can bring solace and comfort to children during difficult times, as well as strengthen the bond between parents and children over a distance.
