Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. China will send a new probe to the moon 06.01.2014

Authorized representatives of the China National Space Administration (CNSA) announced their plans to conduct a new phase of exploration missions on the moon. The main goal of the expeditions will be to take soil samples from the surface of the Earth's satellite and deliver it for study to Chinese laboratories.

The continuation of the current and rather successful stage of studying the lunar surface will be the launch of the Chang'e-4 probe with a lunar lander, the launch of which is planned to be carried out as early as 2015. Chang'e-4 is the successor mission of the Chang'e-3 probe, which became the first Chinese spacecraft to land on the moon. We talked about its lunar landing in detail 2 weeks ago, and all stages, from launch from the spaceport, entering orbit and ending with docking with the surface of the Moon, passed without any hitches.

The next third stage of the Chinese space program should mark its beginning with the launch of Chang'e-5, and after some time, Chang'e-6. The launch of the fifth generation of the Chinese spacecraft is scheduled for 2017. At the moment, preparatory work related to Chang'e-5 is proceeding as planned.

China, based on the announced plans, is very serious about settling its research modules on the Moon, thereby unofficially "staking out" the only satellite of the Earth for its own purposes. Such an active policy of the CNSA and the leadership of the Celestial Empire causes a lot of criticism and controversy from the American department for space exploration.

The activity of Chinese probes on the surface of the moon, according to representatives of the American agency, seriously interferes with the work of NASA's lunar orbiters. However, the true reason, most likely, is the unwillingness of the United States to give dominance in this direction to a competitor that is gaining momentum in space exploration. In addition, China has chosen the European Space Agency and Russia as parties for cooperation on the lunar program.

The most important aspect of the CNSA mission will be the return to Earth of lunar soil samples taken for study. None of the Chinese spacecraft has yet entered the atmosphere of our planet at a speed of 40 km / h. Testing of the technology to enable this is already underway in the Gobi Desert.
