Apparently, over the centuries and millennia, the style and content of the drawings changed: over the elongated figures of people, often armed with boomerangs and darts, images of local animals were later applied with a brighter pigment. It is not yet possible to determine the age of this art gallery in the desert. Carbon-14 dating requires organic matter, which ancient paints do not have.
Only on one "fresco" was found a long-dried nest of wasps - it is 17 years old (this coincides with the age of the drawings of a prehistoric man in the French cave of Lascaux). So the drawing is older than the hornet's nest. But for a more accurate determination, it is necessary to analyze the paints using X-rays, and for this it is necessary to deliver an X-ray spectrometer to the desert.
