Self-guided loader Seegrid GP8 Series

While automakers are only developing self-driving cars that can travel on public roads, there is an industry where self-driving vehicles have been produced and operated for years.

Seegrid, a manufacturer of self-driving forklifts and transporters, has unveiled the GP8 Series 6.

The machine, built on an improved version of the Seegrid Smart Platform, is designed to operate indoors without special markings, lighting or other supporting infrastructure. It relies on machine vision technology to allow it to travel along specified routes without hitting obstacles. Loading and unloading are also carried out fully automatically, without the participation of an operator. Of course, a manual control mode is also provided.

The loader is designed to work with goods on standard pallets.

Dutch inventor John Becker of Delft University of Technology has developed a gyrocopter or "flying car" - a miniature aircraft powered by a diesel engine.
