Origin: In the New Testament, in the First Letter of the Apostle Paul to the Corinthians (3:10), it is said: "I, according to the grace given to me from God, as a wise builder, laid the foundation, and another is building on it..." In the Latin version of this message : Dei gratia - "by the grace of God" or "by the grace of God". In 592 AD e. Subsequently, the highest spiritual and secular persons began to use this expression in their titles.

Random phraseology:

Grated roll.

Meaning:

About an experienced, seasoned person who is difficult to deceive (approval or irony).

Origin:

The expression arose on the basis of the phrase "grated kalach, i.e. kalach, made from special kalach dough, which is crumpled and rubbed for a long time. Kalachi differed depending on the method and place of their manufacture: grated, mixed, crushed, coarse, boiled, Moscow, Muromsky, etc. In the phrase grated kalach, the adjective grated is formed from the verb rub with the main meaning "to drive back and forth on something, pressing". There is also a proverb associated with this phraseological unit: Do not grate, do not mint, there will be no kalach.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

Sweets from the Christmas tree 01.01.2019

The needles of Christmas trees, and indeed any other, trees consist of hundreds of thousands of needles, which decompose in much the same way as other tree leaves. When they rot, they release huge amounts of greenhouse gases. Scientists from the University of Sheffield have discovered that more useful substances can be obtained from decomposition products.

The main component (up to 85 percent) resulting from the decomposition of needles is a complex polymer known as lignocellulose. Its complexity makes the use of needles as a raw material unattractive for modern industry.

The research that has been done has revealed an industrially viable way to break down this complex structure into simpler substances such as sugars and phenols. With the help of heat and solvents such as glycerin, which is cheap and environmentally friendly, spruce needles are decomposed into a liquid product (bio oil) and a solid by-product (biochar).

Bio oil usually contains glucose, acetic acid and phenol. These chemicals are used in many industries - glucose in food sweeteners, acetic acid in paint, glue, and even vinegar.

The process is waste-free as the solid by-product can also be useful in other industrial chemical processes. You can use both fresh and old, abandoned Christmas trees.
