KIA fuel cell car 08.04.2017

KIA Motors, part of the Hyundai Motor Group, intends to bring a hydrogen car to the commercial market by 2020.
Lee Ki-sang, vice president of the Eco Technology Center of the group, spoke about KIA's plans to create a car with a hydrogen fuel cell power plant.

According to him, a hydrogen crossover under the Hyundai brand will first enter the market: this car is expected to go on sale next year. Then, at the end of the decade, a KIA model with a fuel cell powertrain will be offered to consumers.
It is noted that such a development schedule is explained by the fact that Hyundai Motor Group does not have the resources to simultaneously design, test and promote several hydrogen cars. In addition, this will reduce the cost of creating a hydrogen KIA model through the use of already proven technologies.

KIA's research into fuel cells began in 1998, and based on them, the limited edition KIA Mohave FCEV was created, capable of traveling up to 690 km on one gas station.
