There is no prophet in his own country
Bible
Phraseologism: There is no prophet in his own country.
Meaning: People do not believe in talent, genius or the truth of the words of the person who is next to them. It is assumed that everything truly wise, correct, etc. can be born not here, but somewhere in a beautiful far away.
Origin: From the Bible. The expression was formed on the basis of the following gospel verse (New Testament, Gospel of Matthew, 13:57): "... Jesus said to them: There is no prophet without honor, except in his own country and in his own house." Sometimes the expression is quoted in Old Slavonic: "There is no prophet in his own country."
Random phraseology:
Hero.
Meaning:
A person of exceptional courage and valor, or one of the main characters of a literary (literary hero) or other work of culture (cinematic, game hero). Also a class of characters in ancient Greek mythology, children of a deity and fathers, as well as descendants of a deity and a mortal man.
Origin:
The main difference between heroes and gods is that heroes are mortal. An attempt to make the hero immortal is a persistent mythological plot. For the most part, not they themselves, but their immortal parents, but usually these attempts remain futile: for example, Thetis tries to temper Achilles in the fire, and Demeter - Demophon, but a case interferes with the case, which prevents the case from being completed. |

Artificial leather for touch emulation
15.04.2024
In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>
Petgugu Global cat litter

Taking care of pets can often be a challenge, especially when it comes to keeping your home clean. A new interesting solution from the Petgugu Global startup has been presented, which will make life easier for cat owners and help them keep their home perfectly clean and tidy. Startup Petgugu Global has unveiled a unique cat toilet that can automatically flush feces, keeping your home clean and fresh. This innovative device is equipped with various smart sensors that monitor your pet's toilet activity and activate to automatically clean after use. The device connects to the sewer system and ensures efficient waste removal without the need for intervention from the owner. Additionally, the toilet has a large flushable storage capacity, making it ideal for multi-cat households. The Petgugu cat litter bowl is designed for use with water-soluble litters and offers a range of additional ... >>
The attractiveness of caring men
14.04.2024
The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

Researchers at Tokyo Tech have developed a system that can simultaneously transmit 5G signal and power wirelessly to Internet of Things (IoT) devices.
With the increasing penetration and quality of 5G, a huge number of IoT devices are expected around the world. However, the creators of such devices usually face problems related to connection and power supply issues. In other words, wireless power can be supplied from a short distance and a certain direction.
A research team reports the development of a wireless-powered 5G transmitter-receiver that solves both of these problems.
Dr. Atsushi Shirane, who led the project, comments: “The millimeter-wave wireless power transmission system is a promising solution for the massive development of the Internet of Things, which has been hampered by technical problems so far. Thus, creating a 5G transceiver with high efficiency at large angles and distances, We were able to make a real breakthrough."
The transmitter-receiver created by the command has two modes of operation: receive mode and transmit mode.
When operating in receive mode, the device receives a 5G signal and a millimeter wave power signal. The power signal activates the device and provides it with power. The device then enters transmit mode and sends the 5G signal back in the same direction it originally received it from.
This allows devices to seamlessly communicate without requiring a separate connection point, unlike most modern internal IoT devices. The device can generate power over a wide range of angles and distances, unlike other wireless power devices developed in the past.
