Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. TCPP01-M12 chip for protecting USB type-C lines 01.12.2019

STMicroelectronics has introduced a new chip - TCPP01-M12. It has overvoltage protection on the VBUS power line up to 22V using an external N-channel MOSFET, protection on the channel configuration lines (CC), as well as level 61000 ESD protection in accordance with the IEC4-2-01 standard. The TCPP12-MXNUMX provides overvoltage protection in the event of a short circuit between the VBUS and CC lines that can occur when a cable is connected or removed.

The TCPP01-M12 also has built-in power management logic for a device with a dead battery, in accordance with the USB PD specification. In the case when the microcircuit is installed on a Sink device (receiver), it can be powered from the GPIO 3.3 V pins of the microcontroller. In this case, in the "disconnected cable" mode, the microcircuit is turned off. This mode allows you to extend the life of the battery.

The TCCP01-M12 can also change power modes according to the USB Power Delivery specification.

Key features:

support up to 22 V via VBUS line with surge protection;
protection of channel configuration lines (CC) from short circuit with VBUS;
ESD protection;
built-in low battery indicator according to USB PD protocol.
case QFN12 3x3 mm.
