Landau Lev Davidovich. The most famous aphorisms

  • English must be known! Even the most stupid English people know him well.
  • Marriage is a cooperative, and it has nothing to do with love.
  • In a collection of aphorisms, perhaps, one can squeeze the juice of human thought, but the juice does not at all constitute its most precious part.
  • In view of the brevity of our lives, we do not have the luxury of dealing with issues that do not promise new results.
  • The supreme judge of any physical theory is experience. Without experimenters, theorists turn sour.
  • All that is scientific in chemistry is physics, and the rest is cuisine.
  • The main thing is to do everything with passion: it terribly decorates life.
  • The main thing in physics is the ability to neglect.
  • Lord forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.
  • If even a third of the worries that an ordinary woman has were assigned to me, I would not be able to think about theoretical physics at all.
  • If theorists did not put squiggles on paper, then one would think that they are not doing anything.
  • If I had as many worries as a woman, I could not become a physicist.
  • If my grandmother had a mustache, then she would not be a grandmother, but a grandfather.
  • Women are worthy of admiration. For many things, but especially for their patience. I am convinced that if men had to give birth, humanity would quickly die out.
  • A priest of science is one who eats at the expense of science?
  • Nothing comes from nothing.
  • Nothing new can be learned from thick books. Thick books are a graveyard in which ideas of the past that have served their time are buried.
  • A true theoretical physicist can be recognized by whether a person experienced admiration at the first acquaintance with general relativity.
  • The extermination of bores is the duty of every decent person. If the bore is not furious - it's a shame for others.
  • Everyone has enough strength to live life with dignity. And all this talk about what a difficult time it is now is a clever way to justify your inaction, laziness and various dullness. It is necessary to work, and there, you see, times will change.
  • How can you solve a problem, the answer to which you do not know in advance? ..
  • A chicken is not a bird, a logarithm is not infinity.
  • People, having heard about some unusual phenomenon, begin to offer unlikely hypotheses to explain it. First of all, consider the simplest explanation - that it's all a lie.
  • Mathematics is limitless. And it is impossible to master it as simply as theoretical physics.
  • Mathematicians lack imagination, they are physicists-losers. To do physics, they lack physical imagination.
  • Perhaps the greatest triumph of human genius is that man can understand things he can no longer imagine.
  • The sciences are divided into natural, unnatural and unnatural.
  • Some believe that the teacher robs his students. Others - that the students rob the teacher. I believe that both are right, and participation in this mutual robbing is wonderful.
  • One cannot make a scientific career on decency alone - this will inevitably lead to the fact that there will be neither science nor decency.
  • The new theory begins to dominate when the supporters of the old die out.
  • Bye! I went to the institute to scratch my tongue.
  • Why are singers dumb? The selection takes place on a different basis.
  • I'd rather be a coward for five minutes than a corpse all my life.
  • The product of optimism and knowledge is a constant value.
  • Prime numbers are made to be multiplied.
  • Work in the trash, but not wasted!
  • The worst sin is being bored! ...the terrible judgment will come, the Lord God will call and ask: Why didn't you enjoy all the blessings of life? Why did you miss?
  • TV is a garbage chute that works backwards.
  • I don't have physique, I have body subtraction!
  • Successfully marrying is like pulling a blindfolded snake out of a bag of vipers.
  • Studying is a woman's favorite pastime.
  • Scientists are dogs, and then after they are taught. We are scientists!
  • The physicist strives to make complex things simple, and the poet tries to make simple things complex.
  • The physics of our day does not need to know physics, it is enough for him to know mathematics.
  • A person can even know what he cannot imagine.

Latest news of science and technology, new electronics:

The existence of an entropy rule for quantum entanglement has been proven 09.05.2024

Quantum mechanics continues to amaze us with its mysterious phenomena and unexpected discoveries. Recently, Bartosz Regula from the RIKEN Center for Quantum Computing and Ludovico Lamy from the University of Amsterdam presented a new discovery that concerns quantum entanglement and its relation to entropy. Quantum entanglement plays an important role in modern quantum information science and technology. However, the complexity of its structure makes understanding and managing it challenging. Regulus and Lamy's discovery shows that quantum entanglement follows an entropy rule similar to that for classical systems. This discovery opens new perspectives in the field of quantum information science and technology, deepening our understanding of quantum entanglement and its connection to thermodynamics. The results of the study indicate the possibility of reversibility of entanglement transformations, which could greatly simplify their use in various quantum technologies. Opening a new rule ... >>

Mini air conditioner Sony Reon Pocket 5 09.05.2024

Summer is a time for relaxation and travel, but often the heat can turn this time into an unbearable torment. Meet a new product from Sony - the Reon Pocket 5 mini-air conditioner, which promises to make summer more comfortable for its users. Sony has introduced a unique device - the Reon Pocket 5 mini-conditioner, which provides body cooling on hot days. With it, users can enjoy coolness anytime, anywhere by simply wearing it around their neck. This mini air conditioner is equipped with automatic adjustment of operating modes, as well as temperature and humidity sensors. Thanks to innovative technologies, Reon Pocket 5 adjusts its operation depending on the user's activity and environmental conditions. Users can easily adjust the temperature using a dedicated mobile app connected via Bluetooth. Additionally, specially designed T-shirts and shorts are available for convenience, to which a mini air conditioner can be attached. The device can oh ... >>

Energy from space for Starship 08.05.2024

Producing solar energy in space is becoming more feasible with the advent of new technologies and the development of space programs. The head of the startup Virtus Solis shared his vision of using SpaceX's Starship to create orbital power plants capable of powering the Earth. Startup Virtus Solis has unveiled an ambitious project to create orbital power plants using SpaceX's Starship. This idea could significantly change the field of solar energy production, making it more accessible and cheaper. The core of the startup's plan is to reduce the cost of launching satellites into space using Starship. This technological breakthrough is expected to make solar energy production in space more competitive with traditional energy sources. Virtual Solis plans to build large photovoltaic panels in orbit, using Starship to deliver the necessary equipment. However, one of the key challenges ... >>

print robot 27.11.2015

To XNUMXD print a floating shark-shaped microrobot, researchers at the University of California at La Jolla, led by professors Chen Shaochen and Joseph Vann, used a microelectromechanical device. It consists of two million mirrors, each of which is equipped with its own drive.

On command, the drives give each mirror the desired tilt, and the beam of ultraviolet light falling on them is broken into pieces so that each new beam illuminates the desired point. At this point, the photosensitive liquid solidifies, in this case it was a polyethylene glycol diacrylate hydrogel. At the same time, many tiny figurines are being printed.

But that's not all. The print comes in layers, so by adding new fluids and removing old ones, you can change the composition of the figurine. In particular, platinum nanoparticles were embedded in the tail of a microshark measuring 120x30 µm, and iron oxide in the nose. Platinum decomposes hydrogen peroxide (namely, experimental fish swam in its solution) and ensures their movement; magnetic particles in the nose allow this movement to be controlled.

In addition, polydiacetylene nanogranules were included in the upper layer of the fish - this substance binds to bee venom molecules - and a dye that glows red when interacting with the venom. Having launched the fish into a solution containing peroxide and poison, the researchers were convinced of their success: the fish quickly absorbed the latter and lit up.

Now, with the help of other nanoparticles in the tail, it is necessary to teach the fish to use the energy from the components of biological fluids, and then they will serve as sensors for dangerous substances or drug delivery vehicles.
