Albert Schweitzer. The most famous aphorisms

  • Abstraction is death to ethics, for ethics is a living relation to living life.
  • At twenty, each of us has the face given to us by God, at forty - the face that life has given us, at sixty - the face that we deserve.
  • If you live a superficial life, your soul suffers.
  • Knowing each other does not mean knowing everything about each other, it means treating each other with sympathy and trust, trusting each other. A person should not intrude into someone else's personality.
  • The ideal of a cultured person is nothing but the ideal of a person who, under any conditions, retains true humanity.
  • True ethics begins where the use of words ceases.
  • Each of us must repay an unusual debt: to pay for life with life.
  • A personal example is not just the best method of persuasion, but the only one.
  • My opinion is that we should come out in defense of animals, completely abandon meat-eating and speak out against it.
  • Not one ray of the sun is wasted, but the greenery which it awakens from sleep needs time to grow, and the sower will not always be rewarded with the spectacle of the harvest. Work is valuable only when a person works with faith.
  • The decline of the philosophical basis of culture was revealed, philosophy became philosophizing without thinking, the revolt of the natural sciences easily subverted philosophical fantasies, and philosophers were unable to create an optimistic ethical worldview.
  • Regular attendance at church cannot make a man a Christian any more than regular visits to a garage can make a man a driver.
  • Reincarnation is the most plausible explanation of reality, with which Indian thinkers overcame the difficulties that baffled the thinkers of Europe.
  • The fate of any truth is first to be ridiculed, and then recognized.
  • What is commonly thought of as optimism is nothing more than a natural or acquired ability to see things in a rosy light.
  • He who calls for good should not expect people to clear his path of boulders, but must meekly accept his fate even when someone puts extra boulders in his path.
  • Truth has no lesson. Its time always comes when and only when it turns out to be the most untimely.
  • Civilization is such a great idea that someone has to start it.
  • Man masters nature before he has yet learned to master himself.
  • Man has turned into a superman... But the superman, endowed with superhuman strength, has not yet risen to the level of superhuman intelligence. The more his power grows, the poorer he becomes...
  • Man will become ethical only when life as such, the life of plants and animals, is as sacred to him as the life of man, and when he devotes himself to a life in distress.
  • A man who has now become a thinker feels the need to treat any will to life with the same reverence as his own. He feels another life as part of his own. He considers it a blessing to preserve life, to help it, to raise a life capable of development to a higher level, an evil - to destroy life, to harm it, to suppress a life capable of development. This is the main absolute principle of ethics.
  • A person can be called moral only when life is so sacred to him that he values the life of plants and animals on an equal footing with the life of his neighbor, and when he readily devotes himself to helping all living beings who need this help.
  • To be happy, you just need to have good health and a bad memory.
  • Ethics is an infinitely extended responsibility in relation to everything living.
  • I am a life that wants to live, in the midst of other lives that want to live.
  • I do not know how your fate will turn out, but I know one thing for sure: only those of you will be happy who will seek and find an opportunity to serve others.

The existence of an entropy rule for quantum entanglement has been proven 09.05.2024

Quantum mechanics continues to amaze us with its mysterious phenomena and unexpected discoveries. Recently, Bartosz Regula from the RIKEN Center for Quantum Computing and Ludovico Lamy from the University of Amsterdam presented a new discovery that concerns quantum entanglement and its relation to entropy. Quantum entanglement plays an important role in modern quantum information science and technology. However, the complexity of its structure makes understanding and managing it challenging. Regulus and Lamy's discovery shows that quantum entanglement follows an entropy rule similar to that for classical systems. This discovery opens new perspectives in the field of quantum information science and technology, deepening our understanding of quantum entanglement and its connection to thermodynamics. The results of the study indicate the possibility of reversibility of entanglement transformations, which could greatly simplify their use in various quantum technologies. Opening a new rule ... >>

Energy from space for Starship 08.05.2024

Producing solar energy in space is becoming more feasible with the advent of new technologies and the development of space programs. The head of the startup Virtus Solis shared his vision of using SpaceX's Starship to create orbital power plants capable of powering the Earth. Startup Virtus Solis has unveiled an ambitious project to create orbital power plants using SpaceX's Starship. This idea could significantly change the field of solar energy production, making it more accessible and cheaper. The core of the startup's plan is to reduce the cost of launching satellites into space using Starship. This technological breakthrough is expected to make solar energy production in space more competitive with traditional energy sources. Virtual Solis plans to build large photovoltaic panels in orbit, using Starship to deliver the necessary equipment. However, one of the key challenges ... >>
