Focus Description:

To demonstrate focus, you need a wide rubber ring (for example, a bicycle tube, 1 cm wide). Take it with the thumbs and forefingers of both hands. Then twist it twice with your thumb and forefinger, which you need to move in opposite directions.

Focus Another Twisted Ring

Ask the spectator to remove the ring from your fingers, grasping it in exactly the same way as you held it, that is, so that the right thumb and forefinger hold the ring at the top end, while the left thumb and forefinger hold it at the bottom. (Which side the viewer should take the ring with their fingers is shown by the arrows in the figure.)

Now invite the viewer to spin the ring - return it to its original state - changing the position of the hands, but without opening the fingers.

Focus secret:

No matter how much the spectator moves his hands, in the end he will have to admit that this is impossible. Then remove the ring from his hand, taking it exactly as you held it originally. Then very slowly lower your right hand and raise your left. When you do this, the twists will disappear before your eyes.

The twisted ring, together with your hands, forms a kind of structure. When the viewer takes it, the "left version" of the construction is obtained, and in this case it is impossible to get rid of the twisting of the ring.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. New car with air engine 26.11.2000

At Auto Africa Expo2000 in Johannesburg (South Africa), a new air-powered vehicle was presented.

The cost of a 200-kilometer trip in a car called e.Volution costs only 30 cents. The technology for the production of a compressor engine was created by a former Formula 1 engineer, Frenchman Guy Negre, who spent several years developing his idea.

The engine uses compressed air, which is stored in cylinders placed at the bottom of the machine, similar to the oxygen tanks of scuba divers.
