Focus Description:

How to turn four aces held tightly by a spectator into any four cards.

Focus secret:

This is a great trick that even card trick experts love. You start by stating that you need help from someone in the audience who doesn't take anything for granted. This seems like a joke to the audience, but for your trick it is really beneficial to use the help of a person who does not take anyone’s word for it and must be convinced of everything with his own eyes.

Having chosen four aces from the deck, you ask him to say out loud which cards they are, holding them up for everyone to see.

Then, placing the aces face up on the table, you give the remaining cards to the spectator for examination. The spectator must confirm that there are no other aces in the deck and that all cards are ordinary.

When everyone's curiosity has been satisfied, you take the deck face down in your left hand and, taking four aces with your right hand, place them on top, moving the cards slightly. Then you take one of the aces and, without showing them to the audience, place them face down. Turning to your assistant, say: “I put these four aces on the table, do you agree that these are four aces?” Your victim, having not seen the face of the cards since they were placed in the deck, and having heard the slight rustling of the cards, will probably disagree with you. “How? - you will be surprised - you just saw them, but I can show them again if you want.” Turning the cards over to show that they are indeed four aces and placing them back in the deck.

Five rustle the cards slightly and place the four aces face down as before. You ask your assistant again if he is sure this time that it is four aces. It is unlikely that the viewer will agree to your proposal. Then you say, "But I see that you are not very sure. Then, just to convince you, I will show the cards again." You show the cards and place them back on the deck, but before you put them down, you slide the little finger of your left hand under the top card of the deck.

Again, remove the aces with the thumb and forefinger of your right hand, grabbing the top card with them. Then you make a casual motion with your right hand towards the audience to show them the face of the bottom card, and continue: “I just don’t understand how anyone could be so incredulous. Here are the aces.” You put these five cards back on the deck. "I take them one by one and put them on the table. Does everyone agree that these are aces?" But the spectators noticed that the bottom card, i.e. the fifth, was not an ace, so they insist that there are no aces on the table. You turn to your assistant and ask him to show the cards to the spectators.

He does it. While the conversation continues, you count out and hide the top five cards of the deck in the palm of your right hand.

It is hardly worth reminding that you are not looking at your hands. To do this, you count the cards by pushing the cards forward one by one with your thumb, stopping them with the ring finger of your right hand. This can be learned quickly.

When the aces are back on top of the deck, you move it from your left hand to your right. This will allow you to cover them with cards hidden in your palm. Placing the entire deck face down on the table, you again turn to the audience: “Could you tell me where the aces are now?” As a rule, spectators answer that the aces are on the top of the deck.

Without picking up the entire deck, you place the top four cards face down on the table, one at a time. Having taken the fifth card, you show it to the audience with the words: “As you can see, there are no more aces in the deck.” With these words, you take the deck in your hand and, picking up the cards, quickly sort through them, showing them to the audience. But at the same time you try not to show the top five cards, four of which are aces.

Turning to your assistant, you say: “As you can see, no one objects. Be so kind as to put your hand on these four cards and hold it as tightly as possible.” Holding the deck in your left hand, you take the top card of the deck with the index finger and thumb of your right hand, this will be one of the five cards hidden in the palm and placed on the aces, and say: “Now I will take any four cards one by one - and change them on the aces that the spectator is holding. Look how easy it is to do this. I take the first card I come across (here you show the face of the card you are holding - let it be, for example, the seven of diamonds); I put it back in the deck only for a moment , and all I have to do is touch her hand, and she will turn into an ace (even the ace of spades)." It is the ace of spades that you show to the audience with these words.

In the words “I put it in the deck” you make a movement with the card towards the deck, which is taken as a simple gesture, but in fact you change the card according to the third method to the top card of the deck, i.e. one of the aces.

Now the seven of diamonds is on top of the deck, and the three remaining aces lie directly below it. You cannot show this seven of diamonds to the audience again, and you need to get rid of it. This can be done in the following way. To the audience you say: “To prove that any card in the deck suits me, I will shuffle them.” Perform a slightly modified false shuffle using the first method. To do this, throw only one top card (seven of diamonds) into your right hand, through it the next three - these will be three aces, you shuffle the rest of the cards as you wish. When all the cards are in your right hand, you shuffle them again so that at the end the bottom four cards are on top.

Now there are three aces on top of the deck, and the seven of diamonds below them in fourth place. By removing the top card and quickly giving it to your assistant, you reveal that it is an Ace. Do the same with the next card, doing, if you want, just a false shuffle. After the third ace is shown, you fake shuffle again so that you are left with the last ace on top, covered by one card. To do this, during the shuffle, you transfer the two bottom cards from below instead of one - the lowest one (ace).

You take the top card with the thumb and index finger of your right hand and casually show it to the audience so that everyone notices that it is not an Ace. After that, you put it on top of the deck and say: “You and I already have three aces. So the card I’m holding should become the Ace of Diamonds.”

During these words, you have already replaced the card in your hand with the ace you need, using one of the methods of replacing cards. We can recommend using the third method, because it is not so noticeable to the audience.

Air trap for insects 01.05.2024

Agriculture is one of the key sectors of the economy, and pest control is an integral part of this process. A team of scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Central Potato Research Institute (ICAR-CPRI), Shimla, has come up with an innovative solution to this problem - a wind-powered insect air trap. This device addresses the shortcomings of traditional pest control methods by providing real-time insect population data. The trap is powered entirely by wind energy, making it an environmentally friendly solution that requires no power. Its unique design allows monitoring of both harmful and beneficial insects, providing a complete overview of the population in any agricultural area. “By assessing target pests at the right time, we can take necessary measures to control both pests and diseases,” says Kapil ... >>

The threat of space debris to the Earth's magnetic field 01.05.2024

More and more often we hear about an increase in the amount of space debris surrounding our planet. However, it is not only active satellites and spacecraft that contribute to this problem, but also debris from old missions. The growing number of satellites launched by companies like SpaceX creates not only opportunities for the development of the Internet, but also serious threats to space security. Experts are now turning their attention to the potential implications for the Earth's magnetic field. Dr. Jonathan McDowell of the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics emphasizes that companies are rapidly deploying satellite constellations, and the number of satellites could grow to 100 in the next decade. The rapid development of these cosmic armadas of satellites can lead to contamination of the Earth's plasma environment with dangerous debris and a threat to the stability of the magnetosphere. Metal debris from used rockets can disrupt the ionosphere and magnetosphere. Both of these systems play a key role in protecting the atmosphere and maintaining ... >>

Solidification of bulk substances 30.04.2024

There are quite a few mysteries in the world of science, and one of them is the strange behavior of bulk materials. They may behave like a solid but suddenly turn into a flowing liquid. This phenomenon has attracted the attention of many researchers, and we may finally be getting closer to solving this mystery. Imagine sand in an hourglass. It usually flows freely, but in some cases its particles begin to get stuck, turning from a liquid to a solid. This transition has important implications for many areas, from drug production to construction. Researchers from the USA have attempted to describe this phenomenon and come closer to understanding it. In the study, the scientists conducted simulations in the laboratory using data from bags of polystyrene beads. They found that the vibrations within these sets had specific frequencies, meaning that only certain types of vibrations could travel through the material. Received ... >>
