Focus Description:

The performer invites two assistants from the audience to his stage. Then he takes a small rope, puts a metal ring on it and gives the rope to two assistants. The assistants stand opposite each other and hold the stretched rope by the ends. The performer takes a handkerchief, covers it with a ring on the rope and, counting to three, takes off the handkerchief - the ring is not on the rope, but in the magician's hand!

Focus Mysterious disappearance of the ring from the rope

Having called two assistants to the stage, the performer, in front of everyone, puts a secret ring with a slot on the rope and gives the ends of this rope into their hands. Then, having covered that part of the rope where the secret ring is located, he quickly removes this ring from the rope under the handkerchief, hides it under the watch strap, and takes the whole ring that was under the strap in his hand. Now all that remains is to remove the scarf and show the audience and assistants the ring, which it is not clear how the performer ended up in his hand.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

Remote control teacher 06.01.2006

Schools in the US and UK have a new classroom survey technique. Each student is armed with a remote control like a conventional TV, and on the teacher's desk is a computer that can receive infrared signals from the remotes.

The teacher asks a question or writes it on the board, offering options for answers, and each student, clicking the remote control, chooses the correct option, in his opinion. As a result, during the lesson, you can repeatedly poll the entire class. The computer fixes the results. With signals, the student can also attract the attention of the teacher to ask a question or ask him to come and help.

There are about half a million such remotes in use in US schools alone.
