EFFECTIVE FOCUSES AND THEIR CLUES Coin on the tip of a magic wand. Focus Secret Directory / Spectacular tricks and their clues Focus Description: The magician, speaking about the properties of the "magic" wand, goes to the public and declares that in difficult times the wand can help him out - give him as much money as he needs. Approaching one of the spectators, the performer lowers the stick into the inner pocket of his jacket and immediately takes it out (Fig. 50, A). Spectators see that a "silver" ruble has appeared at the end of the stick (Fig. 50, B). The illusionist takes the ruble in his left hand and puts the coin in a glass. Then, in exactly the same way, he “takes out from the audience” a few more “silver” rubles, fills a glass with them; then, pouring out the coins on a tray, he shows the audience.
Props: "Magic" wand with a secret device. Glass cup and metal tray. Silver rubles. Focus secret: The secret of the trick lies in the device of a stick made of thin-walled brass tubing or soldered from tin. On fig. 51, A shows a general view of the stick. 1 - a slot in which the rod with the button 2 walks. The design of the stick (in section) is clear from fig. 51, B. In fig. 51, B, the dotted line shows a section of a tube in which cylinder 2 can move freely. Wire 4 is firmly embedded in it, to which two more spring steel wires are soldered. Loop 5 at the end of the tube; it gives the right direction to the wires. Their ends are tightly inserted into the cut parts of the coin and are firmly fixed. Cylinder 9 is tightly attached inside the tube with a conical hole through which a wire 4 is passed. The hole is bored so that when three wires enter it (button 2 is lowered down), they are added together, adding up the coin; its parts, directed by the loop 5, find one on top of the other and go into the tube.
On fig. 51, D shows a coin with beveled cuts in plan view. The coin has three parts: 6 and 7 - side and 8 - middle. All these parts, as we have already said, are fixed at the ends of three wires in such a way that they form a whole coin with barely noticeable cuts. The length of the wires is calculated so that when the rod 2 rests against the upper end of the slot, the three parts of the coin completely come out of the tube and unite into a whole ruble. When the rod is pulled down with the button, the coin should fold, and all three parts of it should fully enter the tube. Before the performance, the button of the rod is pulled down - and the three parts of the coin are drawn into the tube. Having lowered the end of the wand into the spectator's pocket, the magician imperceptibly lifts the button up with the thumb of his right hand - and a coin appears at the end of the wand (see Fig. 50, B). Having shown the coin, the performer only pretends to take it in his left hand, but in fact, under the cover of his left hand, he hides parts of the coin inside the stick; at this time, in his palm lies a whole ruble, previously taken out of his left pocket. This, as it were, taken from the end of the stick, he throws the ruble into the glass. Then, when turning the body, the illusionist takes out a second ruble from his pocket. Then everything goes according to the description. It is possible to attach a spiral spring pushing upwards inside the stick under the rod 2. Then the ruble will always be pushed outward. At the right time, it will have to be removed inside the tube by moving the button of the rod down with your thumb. Author: Vadimov A.A.
