Focus Description:

The performer, picking up his usual "magic" wand, declares that it has many features. For example, she is excellent at guarding things. With these words, he puts the wand on the table near the objects on it, taken from the audience, and, stepping aside, calls someone from the audience, offering to verify this for himself. The spectator, having stepped onto the stage, tries to approach the table and take something from the things lying on it, but as soon as he holds out his hand, a shot from a stick is immediately heard (Fig. 30).

The magician runs up to the table, takes his wand, and after saying a few gentle words about it, puts it in the inside pocket of his suit.

Props:

A specially prepared "magic" stick with a device that allows you to fire a shot.

A small strong hook with a thin thread tied to it.

Focus secret:

The secret of the trick lies in the special arrangement of the wand shown in fig. 31. A - a body made of brass durable tube; stop B is securely soldered inside the tube; B - a spiral spring for throwing forward the rod G with a sharp striker, which strikes the gun primer D; it is inserted into the unscrewing tip of the stick E with a hole for releasing gases from the combustion of the capsule charge. A small hole is drilled on the side of the G rod, as well as in the stick. In it, after the rod with the drummer is retracted, a small pin F with a ring is inserted. The described device is the "secret" of the wand.

If you wish, you can also make it so that the magician himself pulls the thread at the right time, but it is better when an assistant participates in the act: the shot will be more unexpected for the audience.
