Focus Description:

The audience is shown three aces folded in a fan. The ace of diamonds is located between two black aces. The magician puts three aces in the deck and makes the ace of diamonds disappear.

Focus secret:

1. First of all, you must take an ace of diamonds from the deck and hide it somewhere. Flip through the deck and place the Aces of Spades, Hearts and Clubs face down on the table. Tell your friends, "I'm going to surprise you with the miracle of disappearance. I'm going to make the card disappear completely." As you say this, you place the deck face down on the table and draw three cards, fanning them out to the audience. Make a fan as shown in the illustration so that the middle ace looks like an ace of diamonds. This is, of course, the ace of hearts. Say, "Here are three aces - the ace of clubs, the ace of diamonds, and the ace of spades."

2. Before you can be interrupted, line up three cards and say, "Look, I'll put this one, the ace of spades, close to the bottom of the deck."

Place the Ace of Spades face down in the deck. When you do this, let the spectators see that it really is the ace of spades, but don't point it out by deliberately showing it to the spectators: well, they'll want you to show the next card, which you shouldn't. Say: "This card (pretend to check which ace it is - look at it yourself without letting the audience see it), the ace of diamonds, I will put in the middle of the deck." Do this and then, defiantly checking the card again, say: "I'll put this one, the ace of clubs, closer to the top of the deck." No need to show this card to the audience, despite the fact that it really is an ace of clubs - they saw the first ace and will believe you about the other two.

3. Now say, "So, what ace did I put in the middle - the ace of diamonds, right? I'll make it disappear." Say "Get out!" sharply and imperiously, at the same time clicking on the cards. Grasp the bottom of the deck, holding it firmly between the thumb and fingers of your left hand, and push your right thumb into the center of the deck. With the fingers of your right hand, bend most of the deck back and then release the cards one at a time, letting them spring back with a sharp crack.

Focus Disappearing Ace
So the aces of spades, tambourine and clubs are shown to the public. The center ace is actually the ace of hearts pretending to be an ace of diamonds

4. Extend the cards to your friend again and say: "Please look through the deck - is there still an ace of diamonds. Of course, it's not there, here it is in my pocket." Pull out the card or, if you have learned how to hide the card in the palm of your hand, let it appear from somewhere else.

Air trap for insects 01.05.2024

Agriculture is one of the key sectors of the economy, and pest control is an integral part of this process. A team of scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Central Potato Research Institute (ICAR-CPRI), Shimla, has come up with an innovative solution to this problem - a wind-powered insect air trap. This device addresses the shortcomings of traditional pest control methods by providing real-time insect population data. The trap is powered entirely by wind energy, making it an environmentally friendly solution that requires no power. Its unique design allows monitoring of both harmful and beneficial insects, providing a complete overview of the population in any agricultural area. “By assessing target pests at the right time, we can take necessary measures to control both pests and diseases,” says Kapil ... >>

The threat of space debris to the Earth's magnetic field 01.05.2024

More and more often we hear about an increase in the amount of space debris surrounding our planet. However, it is not only active satellites and spacecraft that contribute to this problem, but also debris from old missions. The growing number of satellites launched by companies like SpaceX creates not only opportunities for the development of the Internet, but also serious threats to space security. Experts are now turning their attention to the potential implications for the Earth's magnetic field. Dr. Jonathan McDowell of the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics emphasizes that companies are rapidly deploying satellite constellations, and the number of satellites could grow to 100 in the next decade. The rapid development of these cosmic armadas of satellites can lead to contamination of the Earth's plasma environment with dangerous debris and a threat to the stability of the magnetosphere. Metal debris from used rockets can disrupt the ionosphere and magnetosphere. Both of these systems play a key role in protecting the atmosphere and maintaining ... >>

Solidification of bulk substances 30.04.2024

There are quite a few mysteries in the world of science, and one of them is the strange behavior of bulk materials. They may behave like a solid but suddenly turn into a flowing liquid. This phenomenon has attracted the attention of many researchers, and we may finally be getting closer to solving this mystery. Imagine sand in an hourglass. It usually flows freely, but in some cases its particles begin to get stuck, turning from a liquid to a solid. This transition has important implications for many areas, from drug production to construction. Researchers from the USA have attempted to describe this phenomenon and come closer to understanding it. In the study, the scientists conducted simulations in the laboratory using data from bags of polystyrene beads. They found that the vibrations within these sets had specific frequencies, meaning that only certain types of vibrations could travel through the material. Received ... >>

Moving solar panels are 30% more efficient than stationary ones 18.02.2015

It is possible to increase the output from a traditional solar station by 25-30% using a mechanical design and a sun tracking system - a "tracker".

The advantage of mobile trackers is that the solar panels placed on them automatically move in the direction of the sun during the day and change their slope depending on the season. Thus, power generation is significantly increased compared to fixed panels.

Photovoltaic panels work most productively when the working surface of the photovoltaic cells is placed perpendicular to sunlight. Dynamic mounting systems for photo panels consist of a control system that influences the operation of electromechanical drives using software.

One of the projects is the Ukrainian solar photovoltaic station "Sunflower-90", built by Rentechno in the second half of 2014 in the Kirovograd region. The total power of 90 kW is intended for the use of "solar electricity" by the farm.

Calculations for this power plant show that with the use of trackers, an annual increase in electricity production of at least 30% will be achieved.
