Focus Description:

Give the audience a stack of postcards and the same number of envelopes. "All the postcards are the same, except for one," tell the audience, "and it differs from the others in that it depicts a pink pig."

Invite them to put any number of postcards in any envelope - one, two, three, etc. Promise to guess which of the envelopes will contain a pink pig; moreover, promise to do it without looking.

When they give you envelopes stuffed with postcards, put them behind your back and, quickly sorting through, raise one of them high above your head. "He's here, you can check!" - With these words, hand the envelope to the audience. Among several postcards from this envelope, one, indeed, will depict him - a pink pig!

Focus secret:

Each postcard is glued from two sheets of paper. All postcards, except for one, with the same drawings. But the last one - with a pink pig - has a safety razor blade glued between two sheets of paper.

It is almost impossible to notice it - it is very thin and flat. But it is easy to detect if you have a magnet. This magnet is in your back pants pocket. With your hands holding the cards and envelopes behind your back, remove the magnet and quickly scan the envelopes, placing them between your fingers and momentarily applying the magnet to each of them. The envelope containing the postcard with the pink piglet will stick to the magnet.

Machine for thinning flowers in gardens 02.05.2024

In modern agriculture, technological progress is developing aimed at increasing the efficiency of plant care processes. The innovative Florix flower thinning machine was presented in Italy, designed to optimize the harvesting stage. This tool is equipped with mobile arms, allowing it to be easily adapted to the needs of the garden. The operator can adjust the speed of the thin wires by controlling them from the tractor cab using a joystick. This approach significantly increases the efficiency of the flower thinning process, providing the possibility of individual adjustment to the specific conditions of the garden, as well as the variety and type of fruit grown in it. After testing the Florix machine for two years on various types of fruit, the results were very encouraging. Farmers such as Filiberto Montanari, who has used a Florix machine for several years, have reported a significant reduction in the time and labor required to thin flowers. ... >>

Advanced Infrared Microscope 02.05.2024

Microscopes play an important role in scientific research, allowing scientists to delve into structures and processes invisible to the eye. However, various microscopy methods have their limitations, and among them was the limitation of resolution when using the infrared range. But the latest achievements of Japanese researchers from the University of Tokyo open up new prospects for studying the microworld. Scientists from the University of Tokyo have unveiled a new microscope that will revolutionize the capabilities of infrared microscopy. This advanced instrument allows you to see the internal structures of living bacteria with amazing clarity on the nanometer scale. Typically, mid-infrared microscopes are limited by low resolution, but the latest development from Japanese researchers overcomes these limitations. According to scientists, the developed microscope allows creating images with a resolution of up to 120 nanometers, which is 30 times higher than the resolution of traditional microscopes. ... >>

Air trap for insects 01.05.2024

Agriculture is one of the key sectors of the economy, and pest control is an integral part of this process. A team of scientists from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Central Potato Research Institute (ICAR-CPRI), Shimla, has come up with an innovative solution to this problem - a wind-powered insect air trap. This device addresses the shortcomings of traditional pest control methods by providing real-time insect population data. The trap is powered entirely by wind energy, making it an environmentally friendly solution that requires no power. Its unique design allows monitoring of both harmful and beneficial insects, providing a complete overview of the population in any agricultural area. “By assessing target pests at the right time, we can take necessary measures to control both pests and diseases,” says Kapil ... >>

Canon Pixma G printers 06.01.2017

Canon has introduced a new series of Pixma G MegaTank inkjet printers, including the G4200, G3200, G2200 and G1200 models. All of them are distinguished by the fact that they are equipped with a new ink supply system that does not require the purchase of traditional cartridges: refillable ink tanks are provided for this.

Instead of buying relatively expensive cartridges, users will purchase ink bottles and simply refill the right color into the appropriate containers when the printer runs out of ink. The new refillable chambers are designed to keep your device clean and refilling at home and in the office as easy as possible. Of course, the advantage of such devices is cheaper printing compared to older Pixma printers.

Refill bottles are available in 135 ml for black and 70 ml for each of the other colors. Black will cost $18, while cyan, magenta and yellow will cost $12 each. One full set of inks is enough, according to the company's estimates, to print 6000 pure black-and-white pages of office documents or 7000 color pages. These bottles contain 30 times more ink than conventional cartridges.

The G1200 ($250) is a regular printer, while the G2200 ($270), G3200 ($300), and G4200 ($400) are all-in-ones (equipped with a built-in 2400 x 4800 CIS scanner). G3200 and G4200 are equipped with wireless Wi-Fi (in particular, there is support for Apple AirPrint).

The flagship G4200 includes an automatic document feeder for scanning/copying and a fax modem. The entire series of printers has a maximum resolution of 4800 x 1200 and allows you to print at speeds up to 8,8 pages per minute in black and white, up to 5 pages per minute - in color.
