Focus Description:

On the illusion table there is an ordinary glass of water. You ask the audience to give you a coin worth 15-20 kopecks for a while. You take this coin with two fingers (index and thumb) and cover it with a silk scarf.

Then let several spectators feel the coin through the scarf. The spectators were convinced that the coin was under the scarf.

You approach the illusion table, take a glass of water with your free hand and, inviting one of the spectators to the stage, give him a handkerchief with a coin. Ask this assistant to hold the handkerchief with the coin over the glass and on the command: “One, two, three!” - release the coin and handkerchief; the spectator follows the command. A short splash of water - the coin fell to the bottom, and the scarf, like the canopy of a parachute, covered the glass.

Focus Invisible Coin

"Now remove the handkerchief from the glass," you ask the assistant.

The viewer takes off the scarf and sees that there is no coin in the glass, there is only clean, transparent water.

"Where's the coin?" you ask.

The viewer is confused.

"Yes, you are an excellent magician, look how cleverly you hid the coin in your pocket."

With these words, you take out a coin from the spectator's pocket.

Focus secret:

To demonstrate the trick, you need a glass of water and a bright silk handkerchief measuring 25 x 25 cm. The secret of the trick is in a glass disk, a duplicate of a twenty-kopeck (or fifteen-kopeck) coin, this disk is held in your palm. Having received the coin from the spectator and covering it with a handkerchief, at that moment you make a substitution. Now the real coin is held in the palm of the hand, and the audience feels the glass disc through the handkerchief.

When the assistant releases the handkerchief, the glass disk falls to the bottom of the glass of water and, naturally, becomes invisible.

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

BMW car will pass a pedestrian 26.05.2014

The automotive company BMW Group is engaged in the UR:BAN research project, within which it develops driver assistance systems. The goal of this initiative is to move efficiently in dense urban traffic and ensure the safety of motorists, pedestrians and cyclists.

The German abbreviation UR:BAN stands for "Urban Space: User-Oriented Assistance Systems and Network Management". Launched in 2012 and running through 2016, the project has 31 participants, including automakers and their suppliers, electronics and software developers. The research initiative is sponsored by the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Energy.

As part of UR:BAN, BMW is creating an electronic assistant that, using sensors and built-in cameras, can analyze the actions of cyclists and pedestrians in the vicinity of a moving car. As soon as there is a risk of a collision with a person, the system is activated: the driver receives a warning signal, and if necessary, the electronics slow down the vehicle, stop it or automatically perform a maneuver if it is possible under current conditions.

According to the developers, at the moment the system can recognize the movements of a person's body parts to determine the direction in which he is going or is going to go. Popular Volvo models have previously learned to "see" pedestrians and cyclists on the road.

Another focus of BMW's work is the Green Coordination and Deceleration Assistant system, which makes the movement of cars in the city more efficient. This technology, taking into account the current traffic congestion and information about the signals of nearby traffic lights, advises drivers on the optimal speed and route, and also optimizes engine performance, making it more productive and economical.

In certain situations, the electronic assistant will offer not the shortest, but the fastest route, requiring fewer stops at intersections. Such a feature, according to BMW, will be extremely useful for electric and hybrid vehicles.

Previously, cars with traffic lights linked Honda and Audi. Such developments are designed to make road traffic efficient, reduce fuel consumption and environmental damage.
