Tr-r-rr! Tra-ta-ta-tah-trr! Rumbling and firing engines, motorcycles rush along a vertical wall. You already you know They are held by centrifugal force.

But another circus performer runs into the arena. A bow to the audience... The orchestra played a merry, cheerful march... And now a cymbal spun on a light stick above the artist's head. Do you recognize the artist? Juggler! Do you know the law of physics? Top! The plate is supported with a stick not in the center, but closer to the edge. This makes it easier to spin. And yet she is on a roll. It holds because it keeps the direction of its axis.

By continuing to rotate the plate, the juggler manages to roll over his head or lie on the floor and roll, intercepting the wand from hand to hand. Then he tosses the plate to another juggler. He picks it up on his wand and continues to rotate.

Sometimes jugglers spin not one plate, but several, holding two sticks in their hands, a third on the toe of their foot, and holding a pole on their forehead, on which a whole dish or a tray laden with glasses rotates.

A little circus

These are the miracles that the spinning top does in the circus! But, of course, the miraculous property of the spinning top alone is not enough here. To become a juggler, you need to study this art for several years. And even having learned, circus performers train every day, spend hours every day repeating their numbers, so that later they can perform them with remarkable ease, with a careless smile on the arena.

Therefore, I do not advise you to try to repeat the experiment with the rotation of a plate on a stick. In any case, don't do it with a china plate, or with earthenware, or even with a plastic plate. A plastic plate will also crack if dropped too hard. And this will not be the case!

If you really want to try your hand, cut out a circle the size of a thick cardboard plate, or drank from plywood. He won't break! But remember that you can learn to juggle only in a place where you won’t touch anything, won’t hook, won’t overturn. Away from mirrors, cabinets, windows, from shelves with dishes!

Trick with a plate is unlikely to succeed. Another trick is much easier - with a wide-brimmed hat. It is often performed by circus clowns, throwing hats on the heads of their partners. Try and throw a hat on the head of a friend. It's not that hard. It is only important, when throwing a hat, to spin it around a vertical axis. Then she will not tumble in the air. Well, the rest depends on your accuracy!

Artificial leather for touch emulation 15.04.2024

In a modern technology world where distance is becoming increasingly commonplace, maintaining connection and a sense of closeness is important. Recent developments in artificial skin by German scientists from Saarland University represent a new era in virtual interactions. German researchers from Saarland University have developed ultra-thin films that can transmit the sensation of touch over a distance. This cutting-edge technology provides new opportunities for virtual communication, especially for those who find themselves far from their loved ones. The ultra-thin films developed by the researchers, just 50 micrometers thick, can be integrated into textiles and worn like a second skin. These films act as sensors that recognize tactile signals from mom or dad, and as actuators that transmit these movements to the baby. Parents' touch to the fabric activates sensors that react to pressure and deform the ultra-thin film. This ... >>

Petgugu Global cat litter 15.04.2024

Taking care of pets can often be a challenge, especially when it comes to keeping your home clean. A new interesting solution from the Petgugu Global startup has been presented, which will make life easier for cat owners and help them keep their home perfectly clean and tidy. Startup Petgugu Global has unveiled a unique cat toilet that can automatically flush feces, keeping your home clean and fresh. This innovative device is equipped with various smart sensors that monitor your pet's toilet activity and activate to automatically clean after use. The device connects to the sewer system and ensures efficient waste removal without the need for intervention from the owner. Additionally, the toilet has a large flushable storage capacity, making it ideal for multi-cat households. The Petgugu cat litter bowl is designed for use with water-soluble litters and offers a range of additional ... >>

The attractiveness of caring men 14.04.2024

The stereotype that women prefer "bad boys" has long been widespread. However, recent research conducted by British scientists from Monash University offers a new perspective on this issue. They looked at how women responded to men's emotional responsibility and willingness to help others. The study's findings could change our understanding of what makes men attractive to women. A study conducted by scientists from Monash University leads to new findings about men's attractiveness to women. In the experiment, women were shown photographs of men with brief stories about their behavior in various situations, including their reaction to an encounter with a homeless person. Some of the men ignored the homeless man, while others helped him, such as buying him food. A study found that men who showed empathy and kindness were more attractive to women compared to men who showed empathy and kindness. ... >>

Football with electronics 08.03.2003

The German company Cairos Technologies has proposed an electronic system that will free football players, football referees and fans from contentious situations.

Each player will receive a radio transmitter the size of a credit card, a transmitter the size of a nut will be hidden in a ball, and up to ten antennas will be placed around the field. The central computer, receiving signals from transmitters, will record the position of the ball and each participant in the game hundreds of times per second.

All information is transmitted to a receiver attached to the referee's wrist. The computer will give sound signals about violations, it will be able to control television cameras so that they constantly monitor the ball, and after the game, coaches and referees will be able to schematically restore all its ups and downs on the monitor screen.

Trials of the system are scheduled at a stadium in Nuremberg, and the firm hopes it will play the 2006 World Cup games.
